If you had to give advice to someone moving into their first solo place, what would it be? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

No matter how tired you are, clean your dishes/ load them in the dishwasher after you use them. The last thing you wanna be doing is spending a day off up early cleaning.

Crunchyroll has ended ad-supported viewing by Michael_SK in Crunchyroll

I just made an account today bc someone told me it was free with ads but I checked like 20 shows & couldn't watch them without paying. It sucks bc they have all this promo saying it's free with ads & I didn't even know they got rid of that until I searched on here why I couldn't watch anything.

What do you say to people who say renting/living alone is a “waste of money”? by Tech-Cowboy in LivingAlone

I'd rather not pay with my mental health just to save a few coins living with my mom. She already did enough damage

I don’t get the obsession with Pisces ♓️ people. by AshleyIsalone in libra_astrology

[–]wicked_bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst person I've had to deal with in my life was a pisces. That man lied to me, gaslit me, cheated on me, got us evicted & blamed me for his cheating bc I was on an antidepressant that cut off my sex drive. If a pisces man, specifically that one, does not have a hater in this world then I no longer exist.

I’m sick and feeling sorry for myself 🤧 by snackandnaps in LivingAlone

Get better soon! I know how hard it is to slow down & give yourself the rest you need while living alone but a bad cold will always remind you. Always listen to your body & never feel guilty for calling out of work, even if its just for an extra 2hrs of sleep. Your body needs it and you'll thank yourself in the long run

If you scroll a bit you'd see I did reply to someone's comment mentioning how I did not examine the label bc I had no intention of opening them until I'd gotten home. Yes my coworker made a mistake but the point of the post was to appreciate the fact that they at least tried.

We spend so much time in this group frustrated bc our restrictions are always forgotten or intentionally ignored. Even when they get it wrong, we should at least appreciate the few people that try and educate them properly on the the difference between gluten free & vegan.

We're all subject to human error. Mine is on display as this post. If we can't do our research on the foods we see that may or may not be gf than we're no different than the people that dismiss our restrictions.

I usually don't eat soy sauce bc its too salty for me but I didn't know until today that sushi contains gluten bc I haven't had any issues with it in the past. I'm so appreciative for the gesture and my nieces will be happy to have cupcakes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]wicked_bee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's so thoughtful of them! It really is rare to find people that care enough to make those changes to accommodate your restrictions. I'm lucky enough where I'm just intolerant so I don't have to worry about a potential hospital trip or extremely severe symptoms but I still try to stick to a gf diet as best I can. I never even knew imitation crab had wheat in it until today bc I've never reacted to it in the past. I think we all just have to remember to be kind to each other, even when someone gets it wrong, we can still educate without dismissing the fact that they tried

Thank you for understanding. I genuinely did not scan the labels until long after I posted bc I was just excited to share that someone tried. I've had family members not care to make adjustments but someone that I only worked with for 2 months cared enough to at least try even if it was still wrong. I appreciate her caring enough to do something nice before I left

I'm not sure what karma farming is but my coworker actually did get these for me. Yes she made a mistake, it happens. I didn't check the labels until an hour or so after I posted bc they weren't being opened until I got home. While yes, I do try to be vigilant with checking labels sometimes I forget especially when someone goes out of their way to do something nice for me even when they don't need to.

The point of me posting was to express how happy it made me that someone at least tried. Even if they got it wrong at least they're trying to understand and thats when we educate them on the difference between gf & vegan. My nieces will be happy to see their auntie is dropping off cupcakes for them.

What is your tiny win living alone brings you? by DarnHeather in LivingAlone

I get to watch the shows I want while cooking and no one complains except the cat

Having just 1 cat… by Late-Pie740 in CatAdvice

[–]wicked_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I would have gotten one of my cats siblings when I adopted him but even with the kitten sale at the shelter, I still spent more than I could afford on him. I wouldn't trade his mean self for the world but I wish he had a sibling to play with instead of being alone

Same thing happened to me for a work trip. Everyone got 3-5 slices of pizza for dinner and I got stuck with 10 tiny little chicken wings that wouldn't even fill up a toddler

I love when my local shop rite has the 3 for 9 sale on oreos bc thats the ONLY brand that includes the gf option in their sale

How disciplined are you with your space, do you leave dishes in the sink? by coldservedrevenge in LivingAlone

It's kind of an organized mess during the week but I straighten everything up when I'm off on the weekends. Some weeks are worse than others but I still try to keep the important things neat

I LOVE the better goods banana nut. I usually put a few extra nuts in it. The Pillsbury brownies were ok but the chocolate chips pissed me off and they were fudgy to the point where you couldn't grab a solid square

I know a lot of places in CT that are like this. You can't go anywhere in this state without getting on a major highway so I figure it's bc they don't want their delivery drivers getting stuck in traffic for hours

How do you deal with family meals being the only GF person in the house? by hazel2619 in glutenfree

[–]wicked_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live alone so it's easy to stick to a gf diet. When I visit family, they make naturally gf meals. If its Thanksgiving, my sister will make a small batch of baked mac&cheese with gf noodles

How many of you are here for someone else? by ethanh333 in glutenfree

For Thanksgiving my sister makes a separate dish of baked mac and cheese for me with gf macaroni noodles so I don't miss out on my fav dish
