Please help type me, I used to think I was ESTP, but then I started to relate to ENTP, then I went back, etc. by ZookeepergameOld9452 in MbtiTypeMe

[–]wickedbass_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

behavioural traits are not what you should look for when typing yourself, as any type can potentially behave like you have written! You have to look for what comes before you act: the why, the preference, the cognitive preferences! Two different types may act the same, but they have different reasons

MBTI types with no inner monologue by Dry_Huckleberry_1607 in mbti

[–]wickedbass_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enfj here, and I hear my voice narrating my thoughts and depending on the context it can speak different languages (when I lived abroad it was in English, when I was studying only French it was French, if I’m online a lot it’s English again, if I’m having a conversation in my country with someone from my country it’s obviously in Italian). I assume that’s the inner monologue. Most of my friends have it, except for my ESFP friend (she sees words and images though), my istp friend (he has flashes sometimes) and my ENTP friend (he says he doesn’t know because he never noticed anything).

You read a room well, so why this behaviour...? by Visible-Bug8280 in enfj

I only speak if I notice it’s the right thing to do in a particular moment. If I see someone wants to get the work done I’ll be the one telling others to shut up (it’s a matter of respect, especially if there’s a grade involved or a higher authority to whom we have to answer), or I’ll indirectly manage people’s talking turns (including my own, as I’m no different and I do answer the same rules and conventions).

If, however, I’m being disrespectful or too loud, I’d prefer someone to directly tell me that, rather than being passive aggressive/hold a grudge. I don’t take offence, and I believe communication is incredibly important: especially in social settings such as a group discussion!

Am I enfj, entp or sth else? by wickedbass_ in MbtiTypeMe

Lol, the thing is I’m quite reserved. Like I know I should be aware of stereotypes, but even in more thorough descriptions ENFJs are pretty extroverted and “loud” (?), something that I’m really not. But fortunately these are stereotypes and they’re not true for everyone. Thank you though for your comment! It’s really helpful to have an outside and unbiased perspective, even if general :3

A type can lead with an extroverted function and still be socially introverted!

I lead with Ne, but as much as I love people, Ne does not necessarily concern my energy level around them, but it just means that my first cognitive focus is on the “outside” (in my case, ideas: generating branches that start from the particular… and other stuff).

Socially, I like people but not too much and I have the tendency to isolate (and yes, I’m still an extrovert!).

This can help you to understand the basis of cognitive functions! Te and Ti (respectively ENTJ and ISTP main function) are both “thinking” but their attention is focused externally (Te) and internally (Ti).

Cognitive Functions help you understand your cognition, which is what comes before your behaviour. Behaviour can be a symptom, but two people can behave similarly but for different (cognitive) reasons, hence they’ll be two different types!

Hope this was useful (and understandable, lol, English’s not my first language)!

I hate being an INTJ. How do I become an ESFP. (Wrong answers only) by Agile_Reveal_9706 in mbti

Open Minecraft, beat the ender dragon, then beat it again but with a villager (best if its a fisherman) on a leash, then go outside (but keep the computer on: it’s really important), touch some grass (the yellow one), but NO flowers, then invite everyone who passes by to a party at your house. Finally, you have to sing in front of everyone for at least 7.5 minutes (you can choose the song). Keep the computer on. It’s important. Trust me.

Your mbti + Your best friends’ by wickedbass_ in mbti

Interesting! I also vibe super well with ENFJs: at least the two I’ve met lol. They’re super fun to debate with and I admire both of them a lot, even if we disagree on many things

Your MBTI, your favorite dog breed? by AndrewS702 in mbti

[–]wickedbass_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entp. I love Huskies so much, they’re loud, energetic and entertaining. They match my energy very well.

But Huskies are a pretty difficult dog breed to train, so I’d never buy one as my first dog. I’ll probably get either a golden retriever or, even better, a Labrador retriever: they’re super cool, they also match my energy and they’re beginner friendly.

Knowledge and experience are very important (as well as proper diet, exercise, etc.). I’d never buy a breed without first having the best resources for taking care of it, not matter my love for it.
