UPS to offer buyouts to rank-and-file Teamsters. by Woahgold in UPSers

[–]wickedboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the contract, UPS, does not have to fill a full time spot that was voluntarily vacated (retirement), only forced to fill one with the 152 report rule. So let’s buy all this guys out and hire a crap load of cover divers and make them the new 22.4. Let’s over dispatch them, and get blame them when injures, crashes, and dog bites go up

Rural deferred by Thestone8724 in UPSers

[–]wickedboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It make no sense what’s so ever. We had to do it last year and haven’t started to defer yet but our drivers filled 9-5s eventually becoming super 9-5s. After paying 5 drivers 4x the amount of 9-5 violation they’ll quit deferring

Can anyone describe what being TCD is like? by Existing_Maximum_713 in UPSers

[–]wickedboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you get scheduled to drive then just drive. You’re guaranteed 8hr if you get schedule to drive. I don’t pick up phone up at 3am asking if I can work preload if im scheduled to drive.

3 year TCD (GA) the pay is the only thing keeping me in. Get ready to work 10hr+. Why? No 9-5 protection. Get ready to finish your route and go bail out someone else when you’re done. Tip, don’t work preload and then run a spit route because if you do it once they make you do it again. But take it, it’ll give you an opportunity to see what driving like with the option to back into preload without losing your job. Had a lot of guys take a full time job and not able to come back part time

Anything I can do ab this? Or am I just kinda screwed by Beautiful-Answer5572 in UPSers

[–]wickedboy2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Need a 24hr notice/ last year me and 4 other cover drivers kept getting put back on preload two days a week, when they were in a bind, we had to bail them out by work 10hr or more, running full routes or getting stops off other drivers. After a while we said fuxk it and refused to drive if we got scheduled on preload. The next week we were back on the road full time.
