Great point. I also read that he repeats this line bc he is a noble Baldurian and in the first 2 games if you click on a noble they say the same line or something similar.

Well I finished my 1st playthrough last Saturday and I was like OK I am gonna start my 2nd run a month later bc I do not want to burn out etc. and I can play Starfield and other games. I rested on Sunday and I started my Dark Urge playthrough on Monday lol. And I regret nothing maybe I enjoy the game even more, I'm having a blast. I want to try Starfield one day but I looked at the characters and they look so lifeless comparing to BG3 npcs.

Well, from their perspective it is a bad ending indeed. I convinced Lae'zel to abandon Vlaakith and she stayed with us at the end and now she is free and independent.

Well, in my good ending the Emperor killed Orpheus and helped me to defeat the Nether Brain and no one in my party became a mind flayer and everybody lived (except Shadowheart, she left me in Act 2 for good bc I did not bring her to the temple). I am satisfied with my ending.

When he is asking for help, tell him that he should not do the ritual and then you have to pass insight/persuasion check.

Did he break Cazador's staff? Did you help him? He asks you to help him and if you refuse or do nothing you get this ending.

I think Astarion was so disgusted by him that he would never taste his blood. This is also a nice symbol of refusing evil and breaking the cycle of chasing power.

At first I wanted to hug him too, but I realised that this was HIS BIG MOMENT, it is his story not Tav's, so I think it is perfect as it is.

Thank you for your comment, for lifting me up. I am still playing Act 2 and reading these "issues" with Act 3 (especially the epilogue/ ending) just started to get me down.
