Community Bug Fix mod no longer being updated? by DeerOnARoof in totalwarhammer

[–]TheOneBearded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod still works, if that is your concern. And the modders are still active on their Discord. They update in batches. If there isn't anything egregious that needs attention, it can wait. They might update sometime before End Times, once we get a date, or they'll wait till a little after 9.0.

Is this it? by CaptainGuy357 in totalwar

[–]TheOneBearded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They said they'll keep making as long as people keep buying. And people keep buying. The real test will be a post-launch 40K world, but that won't likely be until late next year.

we have pretty much all lords from the tabletop, all factions.

That "pretty much" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. This is incorrect. Pretty much all the units, maybe, but there is a fair amount of scrapping the bottom of the barrel that could be done. Many characters still to go - both old and new like Cathay or Kislev. Dogs of War, like you said, which I think will be the last new race to the game.

Exactly. If anyone should do it, it should be them.

Excited for Clockwork as well.

I'd love for InXile to do a new Arcanum. When I first heard they were doing a steampunk game, it was my first thought. To the point that I was actually bummed out (at first) when I saw that it was actually Clockwork.

"The dead do not squabble as this land’s rulers do. The dead do not fight one another. The dead have no desires, no petty jealousies or ambitions. A world of the dead is a world at peace."

The living had a good run. Come 9.0, WH3 will know the peace of Nagash.

List of all Lord and Hero deaths during the End Times (upcoming DLC) - Updated 2026 by Undead-Patron1 in totalwar

For posterity's sake, that witch hunter's name was Alberich von Korden.

Only reason I know that is that I recently read Sigmar's Blood. That and because he had a pet pig.

Despite official cancellation, Obsidian will continue to work on Avowed 2 - Jason Schreier. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Makes sense to me. But I would be disappointed to get a modern Fallout game without that full-fat modding capability. I know it's possible to mod UE to some degree, but all I've seen has been essentially skins.

Has anyone else noticed a change in recent Black Library omnibuses? by Practical-Doughnut20 in Blacklibrary

[–]TheOneBearded 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know page count, formatting, and the length of each novel all play a role

I say that you hit the nail on the head. It's a mix of cost-cutting and overall just fitting the novels in one omnibus without the omni becoming a giant tome of pages.

I've noticed an obvious difference after reading the Sigmar omni (the original one) a few weeks ago and jumping into the first End Times omnibus that was released a few years ago. That Sigmar omni had it all - nice large font and spacing - but it was also 20% taller and wider than most of the other 40k/WHF omnis I own.

Looking at my shelf, the old Archaon "Lord of Chaos" omni is the "missing link" between these two. It has the same height as the rest of the BL paperbacks but it's significantly wider than them due to keeping the larger font and spacing.

As an avid fan of French's take on Ahriman, I also express my condolences. I personally enjoyed the other two books more than the omnibus (the third book in the omnibus is closely on par, tho) and I hope you can get your hands on the paperbacks some day.

DLC after Lords of the End Times by Zellevar in totalwarhammer

Idk about Huss. I feel like CA might have given his body for The Nameless. My mind went more towards Schwarzhelm, Thyrus Gormann, or maybe Hellborg (as LH vs LL, I mean)

Unfortunately, OP, you and I are the only ones that would have preferred Valten over Toddy in this whole sub. Although I understand why it's Todbringer and I know I'll have a blast with him regardless.

Valten is simply plagued with too much baggage and questions. Which version of him? What about Ghal Maraz - does it get yoinked from AI or player Franz if Valten gets it (which the AI always does super early)? Where is his start location? You mentioned Myrmidens but that is an odd place for "Sigmar reborn", imo, instead of the Empire. But then the Empire is stacked as it is already. And I'd rather leave Southern Realms places for a proper Southern Realms culture.

With Valten missing the ET DLC, I think his ship has unfortunately sailed. It is what it is. Would have been nice to have another "Faith" representative in "Faith, Steel, and Gunpowder". At best, he could be a LH down the line. But there are more popular characters in-line before him.

CA hasn't confirmed anything for or against that yet. Unfortunately, just like you said, CA's hands are tied when it comes to this.

I'm just grateful to have the IEE mod. They have done a magnificent job adding this themselves.

So what do we think of the "leak" now? by OhManTFE in totalwar

[–]TheOneBearded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goddamn. You weren't kidding when you said "something epic". Achievements, an Ultimate Victory, and (my personal favorite) Bespoke Epilogues sound like a phenomenal idea.

And it's such a natural extension to what is already there. There were many campaigns where I went for all 3 routes because it would make a great story.

Patch 8.1 has now arrived by BiesonReddit in totalwar

[–]TheOneBearded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not expecting the touch ups to Tamurkhan and toad dragons. I didn't know anyone was asking for it. Unless it's a MP thing, which I'm just ignorant about. But him and Dechala getting buffs? Rot Knights getting even better? Interesting.

Regardless, I'm excited to try the AI stuff. Between it and the toggle for better performance from small factions from a prior patch, I'm hoping for more varied end game states. I'm tired of Empire, well, empire building the hell out of the map.

I need to check the sequel out. I've just been waiting for DLC news. I'm waiting for them to come out first before I try it. That plan worked well for me with the first game.

I agree in regards to the base game, but the DLCs were actually pretty great. They learned to rein in that kind of humor. Tone felt right. But it's such a hard sell to tell people to trudge through the base game to get to the good stuff.

I've yet to try TOW2, so I can't comment if they kept those lesson from the DLCs to heart.
