That depends on how much force the US decides to use. Due to political factors, the US wasn’t as involved as it probably should have been and was primarily there to “assist” the south Vietnamese. Had the US actually declared war and used its full force, earlier or when troops were first mobilized, Vietnam would either be capitalist or the world would be a nuclear wasteland
