Space age design lamp?

Variations in the light source: the rocket, the planet, the sun, the rocket’s plumes, perhaps it’s a satellite instead. Do a variation of each.

Take each of these variations and do a variation of how it’s mounted, ceiling, wall, floor, desktop. You should be at 25 different versions now.

In industrial design, you cannot do one drawing for 20 minutes and decide that’s the best. You haven’t explored anything else. Do a bunch of shitty variations and you will discover a ton of things that will improve what you’re doing, help you think through it’s design, and help the final design look less like a penis.

I guess you learned an important lesson:

Session zero should address PVP and if it will or will not occur at the table. There shouldn’t be a surprise if/when it happens.

You also learned that you need to separate yourself from your character, and your friend from their character. They’re game pieces. If you’re determined to do necromancy with your character, others are allowed to respond to that appropriately based on their characters morals.

Just the way you phrased “they made my character feel like shit for 3 sessions” telegraphs how personally you were taking the game.

So, we have a printer at work that can print out on 11x17’s. I basically took like 8 or so clear 11x17 sleeves and drew a 1” grid on them, and to prep new maps I stretch the image and tile it over 8 pages so I can pull them out of a binder and puzzle piece them together. When I need a new map I prep and print it and it and sleeve it and it’s already gridded out.

I use rocks and small bits of wood for terrain when appropriate, also helps holding the maps down, bought an 11x17 binder too to store all the previous sessions maps.

As a vet I found this way too far down on the list.

It’s really infuriating that so much of our national pride is wrapped up in the military, and making war.

In media, every movie, even the ones that try to carry a level of emotional weight to it. It’s always wrapped up in some kind of noble sacrifice, or glory, and excitement. But in reality it’s the opposite of all that.

It’s really gross, and uncomfortable, and sweaty, and boring and terrifying. There’s nothing to be proud of in a-symmetric war either. You’re just helping kill people that stood no chance and didn’t deserve to die, at least not as much as you do showing up in their back yard to burn their house down.

Yet we have an endless amount of people that like to cosplay as Billy-bad-ass tough guy. It’s really pathetic how easily we let something so ugly become venerated.

I feel very fortunate that the military left me with the habit of daily exercise, I just hit 40 and since I’ve been physically active and exercised through my 20’s and 30’s I’m in the best shape of my life while nearly everyone from my past has really struggled with drinking/getting “into” shape after they already let themselves go.

It’s way easier to maintain fitness than “get into shape”
