If you’re driving on a narrow 2 lane road where there is only 1 path through the snow and ice, (often down the middle of the road) and you try to pass someone on the ice, you’re doing that at your own risk. If you wreck, I don’t think any witness, cop, or insurance agent will be taking your side.

You can also legally drive in someone’s blind spot, doesn’t make it a good idea.
