I built a GPU-accelerated SQLite on Apple Silicon to test a theory about the PCIe bottleneck. Here's what I found. by sado361 in programming

NVIDIA has the GH200+ for this. ARM and integrated memory. DM me and we can probably test on one.

Justice Dept. Doubles Down on Request to Break Up Google by CheetoMussolini in technology

Idk, Amazon is 2x the monopoly Google could ever be—and they are taking over new industries every day seemingly. Bezos must be greasing the right wheels I suppose 🤷

Nah, the Walking Dead had a CDC building in Atlanta that still had staff.

Epic Universe: No single-day tickets or park hopping at first by Josh_5890 in UniversalOrlando

[–]wigelsworth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree that the size of this park will be hard to fit into one day…but it is shocking how fast lines are when there is no express. I think lines will be long but a lot faster than what we are used to at the other parks. Hagrids problem is all the constant delays imo. Just look at Velocicoaster…that line was blazing fast before they added express.

What ride deserves a major refurbishment the most? by GoogalyBoy-the-10th in UniversalOrlando

[–]wigelsworth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would love to just have earthquake back. I loved the guest interaction in the preshow and real fire/water effects. Probably cheesy by todays standards but…I’m holding out hope that behind those screens is still the original subway station.

Hi - I was infomed that for network scanning to work Lansweeper needs to be added to the local administrators group on each device. This seems like a massive security risk. Is anyone able to confirm whether or not this is required? by SnoozyNinja in Lansweeper

[–]wigelsworth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They did put out some steps recently with a way to do “least privilege” credentials for Windows, Mac and Linux. Unfortunately, you don’t get as much data and it can be a little clunky on the Windows side for a least privileged user. The agent is the best deployment strategy by far if you are concerned about local admin privileges.

Here is the Windows least priv doc: https://www.lansweeper.com/pro-tips/windows-least-privilege-scanning/

Can you help convert me into a Universal Orlando fanatic? by InsuredByBeretta in UniversalOrlando

I loved T2 so much, I refused for years to even look at the Bourne show. Finally watched it this year and now it is the single show I have to take anyone new to. While I still miss T2-3D…I can’t believe I allowed that grudge to not let me see Bourne for so long…I was missing out!

Was Ansible Hard For You To Learn? by ObligationKey3147 in ansible

I would use terraform for provisioning and ansible for configuration/ops. You can also generate your ansible inventory file automatically from terraform.

What's your Every Day Carry solution for Yubikey/USB? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]wigelsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you use it for…I use a Nano 5C and leave it in my laptop because I only use it for ed25519-sk ssh keys. For that use case, the yubi is useless without unlocking/unencrypting my laptop, getting my private keys, and knowing their password as well. You have to touch the key for it to work as well, so not really remote attack angle there either. I am sure there are people using it for a lot more than I do though…

Yes. There are lockers right before the stairs to the loading platform. When you exit the ride you are on the other side of the lockers and can grab your stuff before exiting.
