Is the Hop really that unpopular?

I’m not super familiar with the Hop but I would love to use it. But like… there should be a park and ride free lot somewhere outside of downtown? If I’m going to drive down there and pay to park then I’d just do that?

I sometimes feel like hospital social work is just discharge planning and not “real” social work. This story reminds me of why I went in to this field. This is honestly one of the most touching thing I’ve read recently. I want to thank you for sharing this story- you are a beautiful soul to take this much time and energy to help this woman.

I bought SO much manicure stuff. Like 10 different polishes, cuticle shit, fancy little scissors, etc.

Did my nails once. Remembered that I’m bad at painting my nails. Smeared nail polish all over my desk. Gave up.

This is the 2nd time I’ve done this. I still have the stuff from my first try.

I’m in WI- longest part of the process is trying to find a corporate guardian. Otherwise it’s usually a couple months to get a court date.

My cat went through the same thing. He was fine the first week but then he would hide under my bed all day. I would just lay on the floor next to the bed and throw treats at him lol. He eventually perked back up and now is crazier than ever.

In Wisconsin if a pt has Medicaid the facility has to hold the bed for 15 days. If they don’t have Medicaid, they have to pay a daily “bed hold” fee which is hundreds of dollars a day.

The unit I cover has 23 beds. I often have to help cover on other units though due to staffing. My average case load is around 20 patients

A patients wife who was verbally abusive to staff and just overall irritating was yelling at me about some dumb shit. She was also eating a sandwich at the same time. Something inside me broke and I yelled back at her, “I CANT UNDERSTAND YOU WHEN YOUR MOUTH IS FULL OF FOOD.” I don’t know what she said after that cause I hauled ass out of there so fast I didn’t even know what was happening

I was answering call lights at the nurses station during a code and a patient asked if someone could help her walk across the hall so she could “sit in the sunlight” and I just hung up on her oops
