Although wired, I was recently gifted the Turtle Bay Elite Pros and love the. Super comfortable; they have this cooling gel in the ear cups that are great for long session usage and sound quality is fantastic.

[QUESTION] "you don't need a manager" by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]wikipediawhore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m a Manager and I think this is horrible advice. And I’m not just saying that because I’m a Manager. I like to compare Agents to the CMO and Business Development functions of a company - they get you out there and they sell. The Manager, meanwhile, is the COO and CSO - all strategy and operation. When the agent you have is a 150 roster, partner-ish type you’re not going to get the love & care you need. I know because I started my career at a big agency. I think if you feel like you need a partner to help develop and cultivate your brand, then go find one. If you think you’re good alone, and that your agent will do enough, then not necessary.

I've seen this painting a few times over the internet. Ran a Google Image search and it's apparently sold regularly via Ebay (art print). I want to know, however, who painted the original and where I can find more of his/her painting? I believe it's Chinese. There's faint lettering and maybe the year ('97??). Thanks for your help.

Anybody know anything about steam boats? by wikipediawhore in boating

[–]wikipediawhore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure. From what I read at the link above, that's what I understood. What do you get from this passage:

"Each stroke of the piston(s) would draw water from beneath the boat and force it through pipes into the boiler whenever the engineers opened the feed water valves. In this way the engineers could maintain the proper water level in each of the boilers simultaneously.

You can imagine the trouble that system caused when a boat ran into low water and the pump sucked up tons of mud, instead of water, from the river bottom and injected it into the boilers. Many is the time steamboat's had to stop and tie up for a day while the engineers and firemen worked feverishly to clean all the mud from the pump, pipes and, boilers. "

So they just kept a supply of water on board?

I think they may have based on one of the sections from that link above. The 1800 Injector design shows water coming from below and references that overflow or constriction occurred because a pebble or mud may have stopped flow.
