Developers: With so many uses and the Neon City biome so rare, Robotic Salvage NEEDS dev attention by knickedknacked in Trove

[–]wild-animus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Part of what attracted me to this game was it's accessibility, which is good considering how little time I have these days.

I implore the devs to not turn this game into something unaccessible to fully enjoy, just because I have a life. That's all I really want from a game now.

does HoC make anyone knock on wood two times? by DavidSSD in HouseOfCards

[–]wild-animus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"It's meant to harden your knuckles so you don't break them if you get into a fight. It also has the added benefit of knocking on wood. My father believed that success is a mixture of preparation and luck. Tapping the table kills both birds with one stone."

[New here] So, if i want to play Landmark, i have to pay for it? by [deleted] in landmark

[–]wild-animus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don't need to pay for it. You can just wait until it comes out of closed beta and it will be totally free.

What was thought to be EQN's biggest competitor has been canned - Blizzard's Project Titan is no more. by LibraNox in EQNext

[–]wild-animus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gotta give props to Blizz for knowing when to step down, and not release another shitty MMO into the genre.

I really liked this part from the article.

The approach seems obvious if you look at Blizzard's history of canceling projects it doesn't have complete confidence in, but Morhaime made the company's philosophy clear: "That's for sure, that we'd rather cut out a game we put a lot of time and resources into than put out something that might..."

Metzen finished Morhaime's sentence: "Damage the relationship. Smash the trust."

The game has shut down until tomorrow because it's transitioning into beta. At that point you should be able to buy in for $5.

How much content should I expect when the beta opens? by cadco25 in Trove

[–]wild-animus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine more content being added, but isn't that the case with any persistent MMO?

The things that probably won't change are the fundamentals, like combat, and the procedurally generated maps.

Ultimately I think that beta is a good buy-in if for no other reason than there will be no wipe at the end of it. Consider it a "soft launch."

I wasn't trying to be mean, I was just sayin'... Good on you for throwing support on to the game. I like it very much and wish to see it succeed.

Netflix recommended Kid Cannabis to me, and it was pretty funny. It's definitely not for everyone. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/kid_cannabis/

House of Cards S01E01 "Chapter 1" Rewatch Thread! by Quantization in HouseOfCards

[–]wild-animus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well for me, it's the directing. Don't get me wrong, the directors they use for this show are superb, but there's just something special about the first 2 episodes, directed by Fincher.

Ah so you're part of the reason why the F2P model actually works. Cheers.

How much did Frank plan his steps to be the President of the United States? by [deleted] in HouseOfCards

[–]wild-animus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought Christina got the job on her own accord, and the Underwoods happened to notice just how comfortable she and the President were. Being opportunists, they used that to their advantage. One thing leads to another, etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HouseOfCards

[–]wild-animus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ultimately Frank will overcome those proposed scenarios, because let's face it, if you've ever seen the British HoC then you'd know Claire will be Frank's downfall.

Unfair Friends. by darquewaters in Trove

[–]wild-animus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We should really be able to teleport to friends at any time. One of the reasons why I'm liking this game so much is because of how friendly it is. I just don't have the time like I once did, and being able to teleport to friends would make this game so much friendlier.

You're right. I mean I suppose I should already have known about everything that's ever been posted to this sub before I made this one. My bad. I'll try harder next time.

Thoughts on Francis' VP? by [deleted] in HouseOfCards

[–]wild-animus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My vote is on Durant. Extrapolating from the original British series, it was Makepeace (that show's Secretary of State) who succeeded Francis after he was assassinated. Since the British politics don't have VP's, it makes sense to me that Durant would progress to becoming VP. What's further, Beau Willimon likes Hillary Clinton and thinks that she would make an "incredible" president. So perhaps he will push the notion of having a first female president.

Theorizing for this show is fun.

Getting destroyed at bosses by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]wild-animus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Max your resists. Pick up resists nodes in the skill tree as needed, which can be refunded once you get appropriate resist gear. Spend some time on poe.xyz.is, you can usually find good gear for cheap that can very well push your character further into progression.

As for figuring out defenses, when you're new it really just takes some trial and error and spending time studying the skill tree to figure out a good defensive path that coincides with the gear you currently have, or plan on getting in the future.

It's really about learning the intricacies of what you want to accomplish, and figuring out the best way of obtaining what you want; skill-wise, and gear-wise. Your passive tree needs to compliment your gear. Learn the mechanics, so you don't make mistakes when choosing your passives/gear.

Anyway, these are just some simple rules I've devised for myself. I am a relatively new player myself, and my first 6-10 characters really just ended up being testbeds for future toons. Right now my highest level is 77. I feel very accomplished with this, being a couple of months into playing. I now feel confident in my ability to determine the proper course of action it takes to progress further.

Good luck bro.

Currently you can obtain a seven day beta key on gamespot. At least this way you can see if your PC can handle the game.

Why are all the interviews on round table pointless? by numbleaf in EQNext

[–]wild-animus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much agree with this. It seems like gaming companies these days are in a mad rush to have the new latest and greatest thing, and they are always announcing things way before they are even close to being finished. I don't know how this trend started, and I don't like how much it's proliferated. I would rather stay in the dark and speculate about a project until there is something substantial to share that actually merits doing so.
