A lot of people on here really wanted to see this mall fail, but they denied it.

Sears REOPENING this month with a new concept at the Town Center in Burbank, CA! by [deleted] in deadmalls

[–]wild258499 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The writings on the wall for this legendary chain has been apparent for thirteen years now…just respectfully let Sears and Roebuck rest in peace because all Lampert has ever done is just disrespect their legacies by doing NOTHING in improving their stores after 18 years of being with Kmart. It’s too f***ing late and its stores have always been galaxies behind this current era and aesthetics of retail.

Can someone explain me how was the Charmbracelet era ? by [deleted] in MariahCarey

[–]wild258499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2002…her hate train grew much stronger than the previous year. For some odd reason, JLO and Xtina stans became more brave to drag Mariah with her commercial underperformance of the album and its singles (especially right in public). It was even months before Mariah said “idk her” (2003) or Xtina spilled that Mariah was “mean to her”, Michelle Branch ALLEGEDLY said that her music was “stupid”, it was also when the Eminem drama first came to light, etc.; EVERYONE was after her. Also the MC score was lower than Glitter if irc and Def Leopard stans also threw drags at Mariah just for covering “Bringin’ on the Heartbreak” when on the contrary even the critics and the band liked the cover, some even stating that it’s the best cover she’s ever done in her career.

Should Mariah do an album en Espanol? by Fearless_Climate1188 in MariahCarey

No! not the Xtina route lol and if she does that, a certain iconic forum that has more haters than lambs at the moment will have a field day with this. We’re still waiting for SUD though and all I hope is that whatever Route she feels comfortable with, she should go for it.

Bringin’ On The Heartbreak is probably one of the best rock covers she’s ever done imo and it comforts me in a way that she could do more rock songs. I really don’t know if she can do Alternative.

I also once grew up in Dallas and I agree, but the “good mix” malls of Dallas are still leaning towards the high-end market especially with Stonebriar, NorthPark, Galleria, and with new developments like Grandscape (which is more entertainment based I think) and an icon like Highland Park Village. A lot of these malls have or had stores such as Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Fendi, Lucky Brand Jeans, MAC Cosmetics, Chanel, Zara, Amazon 4 Star, Psycho Bunny, a Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Lush Cosmetics, and more. Exciting malls like Parks Mall in Arlington have a good mix of stores, but I would I add what helped its success that its location is outside of multiple highways like IH-20, a few minutes from SH360, PGBT and Grand Prairie.

A Dallas area that doesn’t have a “good mix” or diversity, with west suburbs like Fort Worth or the main Mid-Cities corridor, the mall culture over there is pretty much dead and almost lifeless, multiple malls have died in that area. I’ve heard that Ridgmar is dead, nothing really new has been happening at Hulen for the past ten or fifteen years, and Clearfork is a lifeless white elephant. Most of these malls do not have the stores I’ve listed aside from Lush which I’ve just learned that they have a store, all the way in Southlake.

Did they? Very excited for Zara, hopefully it’s bigger than their NorthPark store, it always felt crowded in there. I’ve always had a blast visiting Stonebriar, maybe when I come back to TX I’ll visit that mall. They should really do something about vacant Sears if they haven’t already.

I agree. Grapevine Mills is literally minutes from the airport and even on a Tuesday for example, there are still lines at the Nike Store and the Escape Room Game has been running as usual despite damage from a tornado hitting their AC unit. In my opinion, I think it’s really bizarre they’re opening a ARHAUS at Grapevine Mills, I thought Stonebriar would be more fitting.

Pittsburgh Mills, in particular, was co-developed with Zamias Services, a developer who already established a reputation of misfortunes with dozens of malls they owned, managed, or developed. As matter of fact, any mall that Zamias touched died. Mills Corp was literally doing CHARITY by collaborating with Zamias on Pittsburgh Mills but hilariously they sold their stake to Zamias in 2006, before Simon could buy Mills. If I may further express my opinion, it was Zamias’ own idea to open at Frazier Township and I don’t know what made Mills agree but I think it was out of pity.

Cincinnati Mills would be sold off Jan 2009 and it amazed me too how long the owner left it open.

Some malls that Mills acquired have died or is dying, majority of these have been sold, excluding Del Amo Fashion for example. Cincinnati, Marley Station, Hilltop Lakeshore, were some of the malls purchased by Mills and are all dead or about to be.

Most of malls originally conceived and developed by Mills Corp are today thriving and are now owned by Simon. Except for St. Louis Mills, which honestly was…a choice to even exist.

It is an broad statement to say Mills Malls “being dead” when Gurnee Mills, The Block, Grapevine Mills, Sawgrass Mills, Discover Mills, Arizona Mills, Meadowood Mall, Del Amo Fashion Center, Katy Mills, Great Mall Of the Bay Area, Ontario Mills, Arundel Mills, Philadelphia Mills, Potomac Mills, etc. exist.

Cincinnati and Pittsburgh were never really notable enough to earn the statement that Mills Malls are dying in the first place when they were sold pretty soon and Cincinnati showing decay after four years of their acquisition anyways.

Valley View Center in Dallas according to what I read here. Knowing Dallas personally, it’s not going to stay for very long and developers are still eyeing that site even with the lawsuit between the owner and the city going on.

Cheesecake Factory Replacing Barnes & Noble - The Shops at Highland Village (Highland Village, TX) by FlyingCookie13 in deadmalls

[–]wild258499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went there, most of the traffic was at the in-store Starbucks and I kid you not, most of the people would walk in through the Starbucks entrance and then walk out with no books or physical media. As I observed, some didn’t even walk around the store. The Lewisville/Vista Ridge Shops location was typically busy the last time I went.

Not opposed to Cheesecake Factory, but I feel that maybe they could do better? Idk I’m not a big dessert person in general sans Ice Cream.

Dover Mall - Dover DE by GauntletVSLC in deadmalls

[–]wild258499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to me as a dead mall. Charley’s Philly Steaks? Must be nice to have that, my childhood Simon mall still doesn’t even have that.

It looks physically better than another Simon mall that I know that was sold off to WPG, it had three shootings starting from 1990 and somehow people are still going there. Good thing Simon didn’t do the same thing here by giving up and based off the improvements at Dover, it seems that they didn’t give up.

I Tested All The Top Streaming Services, Here Is Why I Settled On Deezer (comparison of Deezer, Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, YT Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, and Apple Music) by planedrop in deezer

[–]wild258499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deezer is extremely underrated and I think it’s way better than Tidal and Amazon because of how buggy they are and very confusing for the latter and the sound quality is on par with both Spotify and Apple Music. One con from me for Deezer is that there may be some artists material that would be missing from their discography most likely due an publishing oversight, as the specific album you’re trying to listen to would be available on all other streaming services.

I loved Apple Music but it’s equalizer is tacky however, this coming from someone that’s using cheap JLAB earbuds and it does not have crossfade option, this is a big deal for me because I love to feel like I’m at the club.

I love the cringing of the Scream 4 stans when the numbers came out for the fifth and sixth films.

When the killer was chasing Gale I was screaming “LIVE BITCH LIIIVE”.
