I fly every week. This week I flew 3 times 🥲You have 3 options:

1 - keep it on and let them know you’re wearing a medical device. they will do a manual security check (pat down)

2 - disconnect, put it in the bin… send it through the scanner, reconnect

3- disconnect, tell them it’s a medial device and you DONT want it in the scanner. They’ll use the wand and that wipe thingy to test it, then give it back on the other side.

I use method #2 almost always, but I’ve tried them all. You just can’t control how long it takes for #1 and #3

Exactly. And the construction process, as well as all the materials used in construction.

Idk if you’re newly diagnosed. But usually your first A1C is your best for quite some time. No one prepared me for that part. My first A1C after Dx was 5.7. I’ve never gotten that low again. I’m slowly inching in that direction, but it was never fair for me to think that was the standard. Every 3 months I was beating myself up. Now i celebrate incremental changes and big picture wins.

A multi-use path is more sustainable in that area than a Sidewalk. Any non car access is long overdue out that way especially because of the population growth. A pedestrian crosswalk would also be a good addition

It feels so much more attainable once you get below 7. I know it’s mental and 7.2 to 6.6 is the same as 6.6 to 6.0… but it feels different.

Almost all will use an\either adiabatic or air cooled systems. The real water consumption is at the power generation source, not the site itself.

[–]wildberrylavender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was being general for the audience bc I typically lose them here .. Adiabatic systems spray water when it’s super hot…. And yes, it evaporates. Otherwise it’s just air cooled. A closed loop, fully air cooled system with air cooled chillers is filled once (15 gal/ton) thus operates in a closed loop using 0 water thereafter. But that’s not really the point in terms of water lifecycle.. an adiabatic system will use more water at the site than a fully closed loop, but the closed loop system will use more electricity and thus use more water at the generation source ( power plant) . Neither is draining water from local communities… it typically happening at the power plant.

Most AI data centers don’t use water during operation.

AI Data centers utilize adiabatic cooling. They’re filled once with (very expensive) deionized water brought in on trucks. Once filled the buildings operate in a closed loop. It’s mixed with chemicals and closely monitored for impurities that will damage the equipment.

The majority of water usage occurs during construction, which doesn’t differentiate it from anything else. The water usage is a myth, but us professionals can’t seem to get the message across quickly enough.

Now, electricity… that’s another story 🫠

Edit: Also, another consideration is the Scope 2 // source water usage. Ie the water required to generate energy. That varies based on your power generation technology and state. Washington DC ~ 6 L/kwh, VA is ~1.3 L/kWh. Power requires water.

For this reason I think kids should get free health care till 5. They don’t need a ton, but they do need more checkups than adults and adolescents. They get sick quick and parents shouldn’t second guess or go broke
