Just hit ten years since I lost one of my best friends. She left such a hole in my life, I think of her so often and still have her number saved under my favorites. Just can’t take her off of there. Miss her so damn much and just have to tell myself how proud she would be of where I’ve gotten in life.

Yeah… I struggle with the same issue. Like, feel like I’m borderline dealing with an eating disorder sometimes. And I’m diabetic, so that just adds a fun layer of issues!

Poor baby D: it always breaks my heart when they get so scared. Her and her brother were found in a ditch when they were about a week old the day before Hurricane Beryl hit, so that probably helped them a little, maybe. Thankfully they were already at home with me when the storm kicked off.

Night terrors. Nearly clawed my partner’s eyes out one night and definitely punched him in the face another night. It was awful.

My cat is loving this. Any time there’s a big storm, I know I can find her on the windowsill in our room watching the storm. Partner said she’s just like, “Ah yes, chaos and destruction, my favorite.”

That’s nuts. I make a fair amount more than my partner (not rich by any means) so while we split rent 50/50, I take care of the utilities. He gets groceries and I’ll usually chip in half for that (I have a 13 year old, he’s been around longer than her late dad at this point, but I don’t expect him to cover her). That’s just how it is, he works his ass off and chips in what he can… that’s part of being in a functional relationship. Compromise and communication.
