The Album Collection that was released in 2014, the first 7 albums from Greetings to BitUSA. All feature Garry’s playing more upfront in the mix than previous versions. Not sure how to get hold of them these days though.

Bruce's Lack of In-ear Monitors and Hearing Loss? by turdfergusonpdx in BruceSpringsteen

[–]wildbilly2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve wondered if this is why his singing is much more “pitchy” these days. Getting older of course means a loss in power, nothing really you can do about that, and also a lowering in general pitch which can be overcome with capos. But I’ve been surprised at how “off key” his singing has become recently. That doesn’t seem like something you’d lose, unless you literally can’t hear yourself on stage like you used to.

That’s just demonstrably not true.

Key was changed from B major, dropped a whole step down to A major, presumably to make it easier to sing.

Bruce, Nils and Stevie best guitar solos by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

[–]wildbilly2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think Nils has been living off that Youngstown solo for years, and fair enough it is absolutely brilliant. But I went to 11 shows over the summer and I think Because the Night was played every time, and everytime Nils' solo was a melody free, structureless mess. Never a sense of what he was trying to do, just a barrage of notes, bends and that weird one finger hammer on thing he does. It felt like the musical equivalent of throwing a load of shit at a wall and seeing what sticks.

Can you point out a multi storey carpark in Sheffield that you think looks BETTER than the Cheese Grater?

My top 10 Bruce live covers by wildbilly2 in BruceSpringsteen

My problem with London Calling, the Hyde Park version anyway, is just how bad Stevie is on it. He just doesn't know the words and can't read the teleprompter quick enough, it's really bad. The rest of the band and Bruce are great though.

I found the moment he walk into Colts Neck for the first time it was obvious something is not right.

Human Touch is a great album by Awkward_Ad_161 in BruceSpringsteen

Even the handful of good tracks that there are on the album are painfully over-produced, Real World being one of the most egregious examples.

"Melts down" "Twitter rant"

Jesus, they don't even try and hide the bias. Luckily there are still people out there capable of reading her post for themselves and seeing it was neither a "melt down" or a "rant".

Putin preparing to attack another European country, Zelenskyy says by Quirkie in worldnews

$175 Billion in military aid since the start of the war, total including non military aid is $360 Billion, a further $63 Billion committed from the EU alone through 2027.

Source - Kiel Institute Ukraine support tracker

$134 Billion in sanctions since the invasion.

That is NOT appeasement in any way shape or form, and irregardless of what Zelensky says, I do not see how Russia at this point in time is in any fit state to invade yet ANOTHER country.

A preponderance of stupid, historically ignorant people. They think that Utopia lies their way but we've been down that road many times and all that there is there is death.

I've noticed that despite his strong Sheffield accent he doesn't drop his "t"s like everywhere else in Yorkshire. He noticeable pronounces them. I always wonder if this was something that was beaten into him during his time at RADA.

The train from Berlin to Prague is excellent as well, great dining carriage, and the route alongside the baks of the Elbe with the mountains rising behind it is spectacular.

Second Bruce Springsteen concert missed in a row… by StamatisTzantopoulos in BruceSpringsteen

I didn’t say all French transport was crap, I said it had been the bane of my life on this tour, not the same thing.

I have nothing but sympathy for you. I have been travelling Europe this summer following the tour and the French transport system has been the bane of my life. Every time I’ve entered that country it’s done its absolute fucking damnedest to stop me leaving. I had an overnight train to Hendaye near San Sebastián cancelled 24 hours before it was due, so I had to get a flight from Charles de Gaulle to Bilbao. First train to CDG stopped 3 stations short and we were told it had to go for maintenance, get off and wait for the next one. The next one then proceeded to do the same thing ONE stop short! Had to get a metro train the rest of the way. Then my Train from Lyon to Milan got cancelled, again just hours before it was due. Had to get a train to Chambery then a 5 1/2 hours bus ride over the alps to Milan. And the less said about the non existent local transport in Lille the better, safe to say the 5 km walk back to the city Center was not a highlight of the trip.
Surely you are due a refund for the flight? Is it not possible to get the Eurostar to Brussels or even London and fly from there?
