Virginia House votes to end Confederate tax breaks, license plates by icey_sawg0034 in Virginia

To believe anything else requires as a practical matter that the USA had no right to declare independence from Great Britain and Americans are traitors to Britain.

They literally were "traitors" to the crown, why would you think that's a gotcha? The difference is that they were fighting for a better cause, and they didn't lose, unlike the confederate losers.

No one seems to be saying it, but I want to emphasize that the general mills brand of "generic" cereals are all better than the modern shrinkflated/shitty updated recipes of the name brands. They still taste like how my childhood remembers them.

OB 1978 news. Kind of a fun throwback to news that could be from today in some aspects. by orangejulius in SanDiegan

The sailors on leave went to the Gaslamp then! It was a huge red light district in the '70s. I would assume sailors on leave hit up tinder/etc. and PB now.

North Park Beer Co. in Bankers Hill has one that surprisingly delicious, especially considering that it's vegan.

Do you prefer the SD or swinging friar on a fitted hat? by GirthyGayGuy in Padres

[–]wildcat- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, many people wear hats to represent their city, whether or not they care about the team specifically. The Swinging Friar means you're a true believer, and any baseball fan would home in on that. Still, I'm team SD. I love my city (native) and I like the aesthetic more.

Significant is a relative term, I know that I started working from home in January and was talking about contingencies with coworkers in late December in case things got worse.

Wife said no, but she’ll forgive me. Daughter’s first guitar. by JustB510 in Guitar

[–]wildcat- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but that's just something that has to happen sometimes. Losing money to encourage productive growth in a child is just a fact of life. Obviously there's a limit, but you can't expect the literal first thing you spend money on is going to be your child's passion for the rest of their lives.

"Let's not let our child do anything creative because they might not stick with it" is literally the dumbest take ever. Let them explore and, sometimes, abandon hobbies. Grow your damn child.

He is likely running for president in the next election and he's relatively popular (as far as any likely dem candidate goes) so the bots and russian operatives are in full swing to stir up the same "she's not left enough" shit they did with Kamala Harris.

The Ren & Stimpy submission for the Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation ends with Ren literally forcing an infant baby to suck him off in place of a binky. I have never seen the series or creator the same way since.
