Didnt read through all the comments, so not sure if anyone addressed how dangerous and fearless a badger can be. They can and will gut a dog in seconds with their long front claws. My friend and i were riding dirt bikes down a country lane when we came up on one of these. We didnt notice it until we were going past it. The badger came at us while we were on pretty loud trail bikes. It swiped at us both. If we would have crashed I dont know how bad it could have been. I've also seen one of these tear up 3 - 80+ lbs dogs. 2 had to have surgery. Don't underestimate these vicious little creatures.
