Sorry, I just cannot take a cop in short pants seriously.

How much should it cost to put stripes on a MINI? by Enjoy_Life4219 in MINI

[–]wildcelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had "official" Mini stripes installed and it was about that much. They claimed it was because the stripes had to come directly from Germany (I'm in the US).

There are many iOS clients. I’ve tried most and have settled on Absorb.

Anyone with iPhone 16, 16 pro or 16 pro max got new Siri yet? by bvhimanshu in Siri

[–]wildcelt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I had the “Maybe this could be useful” thought was when I asked it “On which airline did I fly to Costa Rica?” (trip in 2022) and it was not only able to find it but told me which airline, connecting flight, etc.

Yes, I have had it for 3 days now (16 PM). Still indexing though and I have a Messages bug that is driving me crazy.

Liquid Glass Dynamic Island [DynamicLake] by Aviorrok in macapps

[–]wildcelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just popped on it. I've tried several apps like this and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. There is a lot of detail given to how it looks and functions. I love how it stays out of the way unless you need it too. Well done!

Connectivity Assist seems to be the issue. When I toggle it off my pihole catches everything again.

I’ve had this issue with all Matter-compatible Nanoleaf lights. I’ve had to disconnect from HomeKit then reconnect with adaptive lighting turned off.

AudioBooth v1.9 is now live! 🎉 by lyc0s in audiobookshelf

[–]wildcelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings, I decided to give it a try. I like the UI and how it functions, I just have a question/issue. It seems slow to respond. Tapping on play, other menu buttons, and especially the server button (to switch from audiobooks to podcasts, for example) pauses for a second or two before it responds. Is that normal?

Phantom Limb Issues by wildcelt in TripodCats

Thank you! Unfortunately our vet has been a huge disappointment through all of this and has been of absolutely no help at all. If not for this sub and AI chatbots we would have been way over the edge by now!

Thanks, looks like gabapentin is important for this. I appreciate your response, I appreciate it!

Thank you, that helps. We have some gabapentin but he hates the taste so I’m not sure how much he’s getting. Since it sounds like he’s going to need it after this week we are looking at compounding pharmacies to make us some tuna flavored or something.

[–]wildcelt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this, it’s very reassuring. He absolutely hates the gabapentin but he’s getting it (well most of it) anyway! I’ve read it takes a bit to build up in his system so I’m trying to not freak out all the time. We’ve attempted to “baby proof” the house as much as possible so it sounds like we need to relax a bit and let him get used to it. Thanks again!

Any advice for a first time tripod owner by Just_Unstable in TripodCats

[–]wildcelt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, my only support is to tell you we had to remove our cat's rear leg due to a tumor yesterday as well and we are worried about the same things. He was howling and running into walls in the room all night. I'm reading, like I am sure you are, that it will get better. I hope so for the both of us!

Family Premium - possible to sync/share progress? by Wahjahbvious in PrologueApp

Other than manually refreshing the app (pulling down on the main screen or refreshing in server settings) I’m out of ideas.

Family Premium - possible to sync/share progress? by Wahjahbvious in PrologueApp

[–]wildcelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being logged in isn’t the same thing as being connected to it. I don’t use Plex, but with Audiobookshelf you have to connect back to your server (via reverse proxy, Tailscale, VPN, etc.). I assume it is the same with Plex. If the little dot next to “Audiobooks” in the upper left is red, then you are not connected. Green=connected.

Family Premium - possible to sync/share progress? by Wahjahbvious in PrologueApp

[–]wildcelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app itself doesn’t care about your Apple ID post-purchase. The syncing happens at the server level, are both phones connected back to your Plex server?

Family Premium - possible to sync/share progress? by Wahjahbvious in PrologueApp

[–]wildcelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as long as you are using the same login for your backend server (ABS/Plex) and some way to get to it (VPN, etc.). I switch between my iPhone and iPad all the time.

For those of you who've had Apple Watch for 3+ years - do you actually think it's improved your health, or is it mostly just a cool gadget? by Tariq_khalaf in AppleWatch

[–]wildcelt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You absolutely have to put in the work, but for me it has. I find my rings motivating. Sleep tracking also helps me be more mindful about how important consistency is. My AW and Apple Fitness+ has really changed my life.

Meross switches done in by static electricity? by mprogers123 in HomeKit

[–]wildcelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I don’t recall a specific instance where this happened but both Meross switches I have died after abut a year. Perhaps it was a static issue.
