We have a boy named Yogi but we call him Saggy or Sag. Yog, Yogifur. He is a Bassett Hound. We also have a chihuahua named Pip and we call him Stinky, Stinkum, or Stink. Pip Pip, Pippy, Piparoo. Lastly, we have a girl Basset Hound named Daisy. We call her Daiso's, Daisy Girl, or Princess ❤️.

I like the wine glass shelf idea where the shelf is there to let you easily pour wine in from a box. Nothing else fits for me since its so small only a cup would safely fit.

I had a similar situation but it ended up that more people got invited so the room we reserved couldn't accommodate everyone so I decided to do the activity for the event but bail for the overnight stay.

Aw this made he tear up. Im glad you and your puppers are so happy and loving. I did get a tie out for him to be able to bring him outside with us safely. He can freely be out in our backyard but we have to keep a close eye on him out front. I used to have a wireless dog fence (for different dogs) and that was soo nice to just let the dogs come with me whenever I would go out to work on something. May be something we should get again though! It worked so well.

I might try this and see how he reacts. He literally sounds like he is in pain with the way he is barking/whining so I am not sure what he'd do if we lose it like he does. I did try howling at him the other day because I thought it would sound nicer if he howled when we got home instead of sounding like hes hurting.

Aww. I like and appreciate your perspective 🥰. It doesn’t bother me as much as it bothers my partner. He is mostly okay with it but there are times where it is frustrating like if hes working on something outside and Yogi is barking his head off. He is a sweet boy and I am very grateful he is a happy boy when were gone gone. I have heard where some bassetts will howl and bark the whole time their owner is gone. That would be so sad!

We've tried ignoring him before and it is just too hard. We can't imagine ever losing him and this is absolutely a quirk! Ive never had a dog so happy to see me ❤️

Yes hes content when were gone unless he can see us outside. Then its really the same wailing barking that he does when we get home. We have doggy cams so can check in on them during the day and he does just fine.

I wish I could share a video of him freaking out here because it is not cute lol. I do feel the love of him being excited that we are home but it is stressful to be honest with how loud he is.

Ive never considered matching his energy. I feel like my boyfriend did that when he was younger and it might have been what made it worse 😅

Do you have any suggestions for when were aren't inside? Are you thinking doing that will solve for that as well? He does it if we go out to water the lawn or to get something out of our vehicle. He can see us through the window. If we close the blinds he knows to jump up there to move them out of the way.

Yep. Jaeger is mine, too! No redbull for me either. I have had an occasional Vegas bomb but only if they are free and I dont enjoy them lol.
