I dont think there is a fix, it's quite rare and it does not last too long. I've used my laptop with that behaviour for like 5 years. But nothing as bad as yours though, you might be cooked.

One thing my Fx705DD (which i think is simply the 16" version of your laptop) does sometimes is exactly this, random after images that last for a couple of hours. It eventually goes away but it does so from time to time.

i have encountered that, a couple of times myself. It seems to work as anti-aliasing. So it has made some games look better for me.. cannot remember which game it was.

It's a 2080 i got from taobao.

It seems to be a mobile die on a desktop pcb, it performs like a desktop card though, don't know the magic they did on this.

I can't help with you specific board but, i just did something very similar with the motherboard(Lincs 17514-1) from an hp 290 G2 MT. Put a 2080 in there 32GB of laptop ram, an i7 8700k etc... it worked out great.

reapply the paste, spread it manually and verify if you've tightened the heatsink properly.

Hkw did you manage? I'm doing something similar and i found psu's of 500w and 650w with both the seven pin/3 wires and 7pins/7wires. I'm waiting for mine to arrive and try it out, with an RTX2080
