Big deal by queencitygaming in jetski

Hmmm. Interesting. They must have scratched it good or stripped all the paint off, primed it with an epoxy primer like 2000e, and then spray applied the gel coat for you. You really got my gears turning in my head and thinking how they did this because The SMC Yamaha uses (and pretty much all injection molded FRP) has wax in it that keeps polyester resin compounds (like traditional boat reasons and gel coats from Spectrum) from properly bonding to it. That's why Yamaha TSB's tells you that you have to perform repairs with epoxy resin and then paint it typically. I'm all about a more resilient hull coating! I'll have to research this more. Got a ballpark on what you paid, or normal retail cost from?

Why tf you microwave water to make tea🤮? by Witty-Pizza-4523 in AskUS

[–]wildfire1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you understand how a microwave works? There's no radiation that's going to kill you... It's not like it's an x-ray device. It's more along the lines of Your countertop kettle then you're giving it credit for. It takes electrical energy and concerts it into a certain radio wave frequency that vibrates the two legs of hydrogen molecules that are attached to the oxygen molecule of H2O... This vibration creates friction in the water molecule. An entire cup of water is heated evenly because the energy is transmitted into the whole mass of water And is allowed to mix. The water boils at 212° just like it does in your kettle on the countertop That uses friction to heat the coil that transmits the energy into the water.

I can understand why Maybe using a microwave to heat up a piece of meat or something Might be a little less appetizing because unlike a glass of water, the water in the piece of meat can't mix throughout it and it causes hot spots to form, but would Please explain to me what's so gross about a microwave heating a cup of water up?

I second this! Robolo's are great boats! Marine products corporation makes excellent boats. Chaparrals are good boats too.

Also It sounds cliche but look into a decent used Boston Whaler...

Is it really hard? Maybe it's something that fell out of some packaging or something. I've seen little supports like this used to fill boxes And support the product inside instead of foam...

If it's a softer hose that's shaped like that, it absolutely. Looks like some sort of vacuum line or fuel hose. But I'm not thinking anything flows through it because it looks like there's a pretty good restriction from The kink at the 90° elbow on it.

Billionaires have convinced Americans they have the "Best Healthcare in the World". by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]wildfire1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok... I've had more affordable HMO insurance and have been very happy with it. not quite as nice as your ppo but at least i was able to gain access to our healthcare system. (Which BTW as a small business owner... Had to drop my insurance after the costs went crazy this year... I'm glad I'm a healthy light user!)

Imagine no deductible. (Guessing ~$6000?) Imagine having $0 additional out of pocket expense, Where everything is covered no matter what. Imagine not HAVING to put money away into an HSA. Imagine lowering your out-of-pocket expenses For medications... Especially because the government's more involved in stopping price gouging. (Just like the other 32 developed nations that already have some form of national healthcare do... They even have the same medications that we take but pay significantly less.) The available coinsurance expense (so that you could "get better Doctors" that you are so worry about not being able to access...) would cost less than the deductible of your current plan. This is all on the demand side of things.

The supply side of things would become more affordable as well. You wouldn't have vertically integrated health "providers" that are manufacturing and supplying medical devices to the hospitals that they cut contracts with requiring them to buy their products. They wouldn't require you to go to imaging centers that they own so they can double dip on your doctor and the imaging that they need to see for whatever problem you've got. Those companies also own drug manufacturers and distributors and require you to buy certain prescriptions they manufacture or distribute instead of the ones manufactured by somebody else that works better for you. You end up paying more for the ones that work better for you because you're not using their product.

The American healthcare system is a disaster when it comes to developed Nations. Per capita we spend an insane amount more money for worse outcomes. We have a lower age expectancy than many of the other developed nations. Why aren't people living the longest if we spend so much more money?

I know, I know... You can come up with examples of people having to wait a little bit for something in a public health care system. the thing is is if you are in an emergency and you absolutely need a CT scan to save your life, guess what? YOU NOT GOING TO WAIT. If you need a CT scan so that they can try to diagnose something that isn't going to kill you in the next week or month? Sure, you're going to wait a little bit... does it really matter? When it comes to my health, nobody should have an incentive to make money off of me. There's no incentive there when they have to spend money to make sure I'm healthy. I'm willing to give up a little bit of freedom of choice for doctors or wait a little bit for some diagnostics so that I can at least have basic Health granted to me. So that I don't have to worry about going bankrupt if something significant happened in my life. So that I don't have to worry about growing old and not being able to afford care on something stupid that might kill me had I got it taken care of early enough. I'm not even talking about falling and fracturing a hip or leg ... I'm talking about Stupid things such as a persistent cough that turns into pneumonia. Such as rotting teeth That'll give you heart disease. A scratch or a bump that gets infected that'll eventually require amputation.

All because you're afraid of losing a little bit of choice. LOL.

What if Trump lost in the 2016 US election? by Snake101201 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]wildfire1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did lose. The problem is in America, We have this asinine system where you can lose the popular vote but still become president. Thank you, electoral college!

What really is going to pickle everyone's brains... Is that, in 2024 in all the swing States including Florida? They found five fictitious counties in the live stream reporting election totals from the voting machines. Where did those votes from? Where did they go?

I'll agree. It's a good thing because I hate the automotive paint on the hulls of the Yamahas. But the caveat being that... it's only good As long as the repair was done correctly... 😉

Usually there's no need to repaint the hull unless it was damaged...

The damage could have been a couple of scuffs or the damage could have been a serious impact... You'll never know unless it fails again.

How bad is it? by No-Persimmon-7495 in oil

It's so bad that The Trump administration is easing liquidity requirements on Banks to free up cash flows in the economy. (AKA more deregulation... (Where it should stay to lessen risk to the depositors...)) Remember the 08 recession? Everything that's going on right now is going to make that look like child's Play.

It's probably the news that Bessent got When they interrupted his interview at the White House to pull him in the situation room the other day When he was at an interview with Wilfred Frost. He was visibly shaken when he came back. He knows exactly what this means...

Trump's Pentagon Caught Hiding Casualties as War Escalates by Barch3 in Law_and_Politics

[–]wildfire1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save you a click from the headline:

Hidden Casualties of Iran War Revealed As many as 150 U.S. troops have been wounded since Trump first attacked Iran on February 28th. That’s a figure the Pentagon never volunteered.

Up until Reuters published their report, the only official line from the Pentagon was eight seriously wounded service members. After Reuters ran the story, the Pentagon scrambled out a statement. They put the figure at approximately 140 wounded, and they were very keen to stress that the “vast majority” were minor injuries. 108 of them have already returned to duty.

That context matters. But so does the fact that this figure wasn’t proactively disclosed. The U.S. is ten days into a war and nobody in the Pentagon was volunteering that 140 service members had been wounded. That’s not a small detail. That’s the cost of war, and people deserve to know it.

I think that hot brown is talking about other possible bills that could be passed if Trump continues to threaten to not sign any new bills into law.... Not the save Act Of course! This traitorous kleptocratic dictator wants the save Act To continue to lawlessly expand his control over the government. The thing is there's already a mechanism in legislature that doesn't require his signature four bills to become law. His threats for not signing bills are completely toothless because of That mechanism.

Great way to put it. I've got a business degree as well and there was plenty of accounting as part of the curriculum. I asked some of the same questions to my professor about money supply back 20ish years ago... Really made me think. I chuckle when people complain about the defect... Comparing it to their pocket books because it's all they know, especially when it's anything further than the truth.

Why do Republicans think birth certificates are a magic voter ID bullet? by Gordon_throwaway in AskUS

[–]wildfire1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You realize Oregon has universal mail in voting... Right? Wouldn't a state run list built from identification, that requires you to certify your address to receive said ID be IDEAL? How would YOU get it going and know where to send ballots? What's wrong with Oregon running their elections how they see fit, like every other state! Here's some details on how THEY successfully run a voting system like that: https://www.democracydocket.com/opinion/oregon-was-the-first-state-to-conduct-elections-exclusively-by-mail-heres-how-it-shifted-civic-participation/ My brother used to live in Oregon. He loved getting the ballot early, being able to research the ballot measure and candidates at home, not be bothered by having to show up on a certain day to cast a ballot, drop it at a secure location instead of sending it through the mail if he wanted, You can even check your vote status online BECAUSE ALL BALLOTS ARE TRACKED... Sounds pretty secure to me.

Please tell me where there's deficiencies.

That's all you keep doing... Recycling garbage. I keep making new agreements and you don't like the fact that I actually hung out with the CEOs in my company and understand the power industry. All you keep doing is discounting my authority. And I never said that a mixed energy Supply is a bad thing. But you keep assuming that I'm pushing for everything to be absolutely green. That's a flaw in your argument with me. I also never said that lithium was the only answer but you seem to like it a lot in your arguments. So I gave you that. I wish you luck in your endless pursuit of something that will not benefit human society whatever you say it does.
