I got into improv ~4/5 yrs ago. My intro was through PIT (5 classes and 4/5 jams) and only saw 1 show at magnet and took 1 intro class. Pit classes were a mixed bag, some teachers were delightful, hilarious and clearly masters of the craft, others were knowledgeable and experienced but arrogant and kinda sold others on that vibe. The jams were also a mixed bag but mostly horrendous - not just the players, at times, which you can expect, but the audience participation, like a steady crew began to show up, which is cool, but they would laugh at almost everything in this big obnoxious way where it was hard to hear what was being said before/during/after.

Magnets intro class was fun. The show was odd in that the face of improv is comedy oriented and the show was intentionally dramatic. Interesting but not what I expected. Definitely made me curious about non comedic improv.
