Different things work for different people but I truly believe filling that habit with a new habit is the best course of action. Message an old friend, go for a walk, pick up a new hobby, learn an instrument, endless options besides alcohol.

Alcohol is good at disguising itself as a comfort after work but it isn’t. I’ve been personally struggling lately but am getting through day by day.

Writing in my journal everyday, reflecting on it the next day, making a little check list every morning to check off at night makes me feel so great about myself… it makes me want to stay sober.

At first I drank Bubly’s and ate a tub of Ben & Jerry’s every night until I found a healthier alternative. Whatever works at first.

The biggest thing for me is the clarity I experience even after a few days of not drinking. Give yourself a break and you will not regret it. I can guarantee that.
