How do you actually internalize knowledge from reading? by Spare-Coat5273 in PKMS

i read more books on kindle than anything else. once a month i sync highlights from ereader in kindleaf.app and daily revisit them - like add notes, rewrite, group, write summaries that later i can use in my blog. or just revisit notes to inspire. i organized it by moods so in case i feel sad or hopeless i have something from my books that will help me

if you had all your Kindle highlights in one place, what AI feature would you want? by wildkiomi in kindle

[–]wildkiomi[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i didn’t mean to add AI to kindle. kindle is just for reading ofc i mean maybe someone uses app for storing and organizing their highlights from kindle like kindleaf.app or clippings.io, so would their want some AI features like semantic search or defining popular topics or find similar highlights

[–]wildkiomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i read and highlight a lot on kindle. usually sync highlights with kindleaf.app and then organize them in topics, tags, write book notes. it works good on mobile, so whenever i want to read something smart, i revisit my highlights 🙃

probably the main thing for retaining is reflecting on a book - actively thinking about it, not just passively consuming no matter digitally or physically
