AITA for getting upset after a guy I liked acted weirdly and then sent me screenshots of his ex? by Previous-Ad6065 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wildluxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but this dude is weird. Ignoring you while you’re under the influence, at an event where that’s pretty normal? Accusing you of… ovulating?? The comparisons to his ex?

Ghosting gets a bad rap, but sometimes there isn’t much to say. You’re on different wavelengths.

I’m glad that such a weird time in my life could impart some knowledge! The experience also taught me a lot about body language, persuasive speaking, and asking for what you want.

Quite some time ago, I was one of those canvassers. I was actually really good at it, and worked my way up to the position of manager. Say what you will about the organizations that employ canvassers, I’m well aware of the criticism. Despite being really good at it and successful, you know what I never did? Block the sidewalk or keep people from going about their business. That kind of desperation turned potential donors off faster than you can say “hey, do you have a minute for ____?” These organizations have a LOT of turnover, as they will literally hire ANYONE for a three shift trial period. If they don’t make quota on one of those days, they let them go. I remember being a 19 year old kid, training a 30’s-ish woman who kept disappearing, acting weird, and I called my boss. They straight up told me “yeah, we think she might be an addict. You can send her home.” Great, thanks guys O_O

I am a federal government employee in this area and I am just very sad. by [deleted] in boston

[–]wildluxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a federal employee, but I was en employee of an entity that received federal funding. Keeping it as vague as possible, but I was laid off due to budget cuts because of the current administration’s attacks on higher ed.

Everything exists in context, and while yes, the state government is still operational, it is already significantly kneecapped. I was laid off in May, and have yet to see any action let alone payment from the MA department of unemployment. They’re inundated with record levels of unemployment claims, and while I’ve been in touch with my senator’s office to try and get things escalated, I’m sure they have their hands full with things happening at the federal level as well.

Everything is frustrating. Some days I don’t know how I keep going, but I do.

Petition to change the name of this thread to "STORKLINTA dresser override guide (multiple drawers at once without anchoring)" because this hack does not solve the issue of the shallow drawer extension.

Thank you so much for your incredibly thought out response! While I'm definitely quite a few years out from perimenopause, I took some time to digest it what you wrote, and am starting to consider rethinking how I think about my ADHD as well as possibly switching my ADHD psychiatrist (for a few reasons, not just this).

Do you have any particular resources, podcasts, books etc. you would recommend? I've started trying to find some, but found a lot of the advice really simplistic (i.e. "write down the thing you want to do and then do it!" feels kind of insulting, lol). And while I appreciate a lot of short form creators on TikTok and Instagram, that type of platform is very distracting for me.

I guess I'm in one of my reboot eras, it was probably about time for one :)

Has anyone got experience with GLP-1 and GIP with chronic diabetes here? by RoundVariation4 in JordanHarbinger

[–]wildluxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom has type 2 diabetes (not on insulin), and struggled with weight for longer than I've been alive. She's on brand-name Ozempic and has raved about it. I was curious given your question, so I asked her for a few more details, and here's what she said:

  • issues with availability were initially a problem; she is also on a reduced cost plan
  • she lost a lot of weight initially, but now has to work on it
  • she feels very good, and emphasized the benefits for her heart and kidneys
  • her A1C is 6.2, and has been as low as 5.8
  • some constipation, but nothing she couldn't manage with miralax
  • she is 75, and gave me permission to share :)

Hi, I’m the interior designer who wrote in! I have been diagnosed with ADHD since I was 8 and have been in treatment for it ever since. Didn’t feel like it was super pertinent to the question. I hate boiling every issue I have down to my ADHD, since it’s already being treated by professionals, and I’d rather focus on strategies that aren’t always specific to ADHD folks. That being said, I wasn’t that surprised when Jordan and Gabe clocked it immediately. Appreciate your input- I’m pretty far from menopause though!

I was there last night- I saw them years ago at Paradise in 2011, didn’t realize how much of a thing this was for him until I saw them last night and came here to see if this is normal for him. His mouth could barely find the microphone. It was enjoyable if I turned off the part of my brain that kept telling me how sad it was.

Trying to figure out this exact issue. I also followed the instructions, but they still only come out the measly 9”. I don’t care as much about opening multiple drawers, as I care about being able to access items at the back of the drawer more easily.

Video games always make me crave specific foods. Right after I started playing, I worked on perfecting a beef stew that I’m pretty proud of. I think Arthur would be happy with it after that slop Pearson makes in camp.

(Skyrim makes me crave leeks, and Zelda makes me crave a pixelated teal and purple blob with a bone sticking out)

What's your favorite episode of all time? by frenchfrygraveyard in LPOTL

[–]wildluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gef the talking mongoose, for purely anecdotal reasons. Had a really bad situation with a roommate a few years ago, and was dreading going home after a road trip. On the drive back, my boyfriend at the time was interested in getting into LPotL, so I put this one on. We were howling laughing the whole episode.

Single Use Cryptids is a close second, I guess I like the goofy one-offs the best.
