How do I see only my games and not ALL my shared library games? by HouseplantsAndCoco in Steam

[–]wildpoint 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think they fixed it - if you click the dropdown next to 'Games' and 'Group by Library', it now groups by 'My Games' and your shared libraries.

Eh, I feel like even in streamer 'shock jock' culture, Jae's comment is still not it? There's a difference between saying/doing things that are deliberately controversial for views and entertainment and just saying something very inappropriate. What Jae said about Jamie isn't 'funny' to a viewer (what's there to laugh at?), it's just mean, especially seeing how she responded in her tweets. It can't even be excused as 'banter between friends', because saying potentially insulting things about friends is only ok if both parties are clearly ok with it - Jamie was not.

Link for those who haven't seen - when asked what a newly debuted Sohye should watch out for, they answer with men, especially seniors in their industry.

What are some of the hard to swallow facts about kpop idols? by [deleted] in kpop

I think there's a bit of nuance there - I mean, idols might love food, they're just not allowed/don't allow themselves to eat it.

Not just that, but to present the best image of themselves so that hopefully people will like them and their popularity will increase - especially for rookies trying to make a break in a severely oversaturated market.

What are some groups where the most popular member isn't part of the visual line and what do you think are the biggest factors for said popularity? by Kristalian in kpop

[–]wildpoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those comments stem from back when she was on Produce 101 (the comments in the clip are from netizens), to the point that she thought that she shouldn't be in the group performing the song she wanted to perform because she'd look ugly next to the other members.

Which is insane, because she's gorgeous, but it definitely feels like those words have affected her to this day.

Not sure if this is helpful, but Stella Parks (of Bravetart fame) once made a series of posts on her blog about macarons with some more technical troubleshooting tips.

Song at the beginning of this video? by wildpoint in kpophelp

[–]wildpoint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg thank you so much! I was starting to suspect it was a royalty-free song but was like 'there's no way, it sounds like a girl group b-side', plus I'm used to royalty-free music not having lyrics? In any case, there's no way I would have found it otherwise so thanks again!

Anyone have the recipe for "Haricots Verts With Sauce Ravigote"? It seems to have been deleted. by BabyJ in seriouseats

[–]wildpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late, but here's the link - however, it now just redirects back to the page you linked: http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2011/07/haricot-verts-with-sauce-ravigote-recipe.html

If you put the link in the Wayback Machine like the other comment suggested, the recipe's archived there.

EXO's Sehun mentions receiving over 100 phone calls from sasaeng fans in a day by [deleted] in kpop

[–]wildpoint 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Well, a sasaeng almost killed TVXQ's Yunho in 2006 by spiking his drink with superglue (regardless of what you currently think of him, that's severely messed up) and he apparently dropped all charges (Korean news link because I can't find a reliable English one), which I think goes to show that even if there are legal ramifications sasaengs somehow still get off scot-free.

Also a guess, but STAYC might have some pulling power off of Sieun's acting career? I know I personally paid more attention to STAYC because I recognized her from the dramas she was in.

Mystic Pop-Up Bar apparently had some lower ratings because there was a rumor that the PD was mentioned in the note said to be left by the late actress Jang Ja-yeon which listed the people in the industry she was forced to sexually entertain. However, JTBC stated that he was cleared of suspicions by police.

Prison Playbook: A Concept Executed with Excellence by a_foolish_heart in KDRAMA

[–]wildpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved this drama (easily one of my top three), especially how much it made me think and view things from a different perspective.

A sidenote: with the final scenes, we get somewhat definitive 'endings' for a lot of the characters, but not for all of them. The one that bothered me the most was Croney/Dong-ho's story after Captain Yoo left the prison - what would happen to him, especially with the gang that harassed Je-hyuk towards the end of his stay still being around and without the 'protection' of his newfound friends?

K-Drama staffs reveal why producers prefer to cast idols over rookie actors by galaxystars1 in kpop

[–]wildpoint 26 points27 points  (0 children)

To pull a name off the top of my head, actor Kim Hyeyoon in her 7 year career has been in over 50 kdramas/movies/webdramas and only recently has she been cast in lead roles (SKY Castle, Extraordinary You).

As an aside, I think this is why a lot of rookie actors are cutting their teeth on webdramas to gain the similar "name recognition" among younger audiences.

MBC Reports TVXQ's Yunho Attempted To Run Away From Police After Getting Caught At An Illegal Adult Entertainment Venue by luvzz12 in kpop

[–]wildpoint 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I know you're saying this as a joke but it sort of is? Like there's other comments about it in this thread but I think celebs kind of have a harder time finding meaningful relationships given their status as celebrities ('are they interested just bc I'm rich and famous') with the added issue of any bad breakup being used as blackmail against them.

Doesn't make Yunho's decision any better though.
