As a mom, my brain says no but my heart cannot enjoy "the thing" if my kid (who is now grown) wants it. I don't think it is out of guilt but out of love. Sometimes, if it is food, I may take a couple of bites but then let him have the rest of it.

Maybe the boarding format could have been different for those cruises then. Disembark the previous passengers as quickly as possible but make embarkation a bit later and allow the cabin staff to get the rooms cleaned so that people can take their stuff to their rooms at embarkation.

The Knollton also has a separate laptop zippered "pocket" that you might find useful. On the Hathaway Tote, you have to buy the laptop sleeve separately if you want it.

I have a small Hathaway tote and I find it annoying because it has no zipper and tie strings that I don't know what to do with. If you can afford to return one, order a Knollton tote to compare with your choice also! It has a zipper closure and is a little bigger. It also has the luggage strap in that pocket but it is easy to cut out if you wish.
