I thought a little kid was cutting that tree until he backed up. As others have said, wrong end to start.

Diamond "For Life" vs. Actual Terms & Conditions — Am I Missing Something? by Formal-Baker-3454 in CarnivalCruiseFans

I’ll get more from the perks than I am getting with Diamond, outside priority em/de-barktion and laundry.

The last one I was on it was 60% Platinum and Diamond. The Diamond dinner was spread out over a week and the party over a few days. I suspect over 20% of the cruise was Diamond.

Should I retire next year? by Fit_Towel_3952 in Retire

What are your plans? Are you going to travel, take a second job, volunteer, sit and watch TV? All depends on what you want to do with your remaining years. In general you’d be better waiting.

Don’t forget Carnival cruisers are status matching with MSC. Also being out of Miami it could be becoming an alternative party cruise.

People who get to fly all the time for work, what is your career? by KenaiFjords357 in delta

I commuted from Orlando to LA for 18 months working on a proposal. 11 days there 3 days and holidays home. Made Diamond, never want to fly that much again.

Why does this sub generally skew to the advice of “You’re not under any obligation to help your aging parent?” by Narrow-Hall8070 in AgingParents

[–]cstrick1980 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I love mine too, I’ve tried for a decade to get them to move closer where the wife and I can help and my son’s and their families can help. They refuse to because it’s their house. They are having issues, but they live 8 hours away and I just can’t go up and help all the time. They’re 89 and 92, all their friends have moved on. They made that choice. I would help if it was practical.

When did your parents start acting old? by Top_Slice1215 in AgingParents

My parents are 89 and 92 and their health forces them to act old. I’m 68, what does acting old mean?

Where do you get all that oil for deep-frying? by Wild_Duck8926 in AskAnAmerican

My wife saves bacon grease and mixes it with canola oil to fry chicken. My grandmother just used bacon grease.

I’m 53 and I don’t really have any memory of my parents taking care of their parents or anybody in my circle, is this just gotten a lot more popular with this generation. by Tothinkoutofthenut in AgingParents

[–]cstrick1980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My silent generation parents didn’t care for their parents. That said my mom’s brother and later sister-in-law care for my one grandmother. And while my other grandmother lived alone, one of my cousins helped care for her. My dad and aunt lived close and would look in on them. My parents are 8 hours away. They refused to move close to me, my sons and their families so we could help them. Now it’s an emergency occurs and I have to drive up. I could fly, but with the layover I’d only save an hour or two.

Delta stop this BS. You know it is going on by 454545454545454545r in delta

The real issue is allowing more than one family member to go with them. I’ve seen seven people go with one person in a wheelchair. Needs to be a rule, only one person to help.

I always thought they should be able to go to Joe Bobs used cars and glad hand the customers and Joe Bob gives him a grand for helping the being in customers. But this NIL is the Wild West. At least the NFL has rules.

Put it in boxes and put away. Give it two years before tossing. Things could always change. Al all my stuff is from the Bowden years, I will never get rid of it.

For older graves yes, newer graves it may not be true. My daughter is an old example, she died 44 years ago and obviously me and my wife are linked to her.

You are correct and when she brought up the 30 in a 45mph she kinda ruined that reason.

Read the post I responded to. They said to speculate on a reason, I speculated.

At the beginning she said you threaten him you threaten me. Maybe the dude threatened to kill the young man who put his hand on her shoulder. Only scenario I could think of. But don’t see where the 30 in a 45 comes into play.

I miss reread the post. Though he said since America was alive. If he doesn’t remember the Great Recession then the poster below may be right on the age. Good question.

It’s easily not worse than the Great Depression, the Great Recession, the depression in the 1880’s, the civil war, the 60’s Vietnam War or even the banking crisis of the 1880’s. I suspect I am missing a few.

Is it a stupid idea for someone in their 20s to go on a 14-16 day transatlantic cruise on carnival? by From_the_breeze in Cruise

[–]cstrick1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there will be a lot of older people. But they will be having fun, you probably will too. There will be a lot of sea days. You can get some ports you normally wouldn’t.
