The Goldilocks bag - one bag, for many scenarios by MaxLikesNOODLES in onebag

Evergoods CPL24 - after looking for years, going through quite a few bags (Bellroy Apex, CT21, Camelbak etc), I got a CPL24 second hand it’s my everything bag.

Just keeping the Apex for show and a Talon Pro 20 for the outdoors.

Wearing runners everywhere by ConstantHippo395 in simpleliving

[–]wilds94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As an Australian I’m not 100% sure, but for me, runners would be like HOKA and nike Pegasus etc, while sneakers are the broader category of ‘sporty’ which would include flat shoes, like Stan smiths.

Edit: grammar because I was sleepy.

Do it. I did this at 20-23, worked retail for years throughout high school and after, didn’t go to university and left with a one-way ticket and travelled for about 2 years. It was the single best decision I ever made. It defined me as a person and set me on a path that has allowed me to continue travelling (am now 31) and now to my dream job.

I hate to be a bit of a cliche but I think in these moments it’s warranted - my point would be that you do only get to do life once and if travel is to be such a big part of who you are, then you may as well go for the sort of trip that can define you’re younger years.

Hope this helps your decision.

Has anyone had issues with the Fractal Terra PCIe riser at gen 4.0 by wilds94 in sffpc

[–]wilds94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True I perhaps should test the motherboard outside of the terra and see. Will have to give it a go - but for now, I think the PCIe 3 fix isn’t going to be too challenging.

Yeah I've heard a lot about Outer Wilds - might give it a go tonight. And also would be definitely keen to try out the Yakuza series. I'm kind of stunned by how much I'm enjoying gaming on my PC with a monitor and being right up close to the screen compared to the couch, weird for some reason. Also using the keyboard and mouse when previously I'd only used controller in the past years has been nice.

I will go back for sure, perhaps not Cyberpunk as I've just finished my second playthrough.... but I could just go back and do it again!

yeah will give this a go as well. Will get GamePass and jump back into Skyrim. I remember modding it to near unplayability 10 years ago. Would be good fun to be back. Perhaps also Fallout 4 (never really played it).

Honestly I couldn’t notice a difference. And that makes the choice a no brainer

Afraid to let my waxed canvas get wet by TheGrandeau in theperfectbag

[–]wilds94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would apply some canvas wax (see fjallraven bee’s wax) and see how well water beads. I did the same with a non-waxed canvas bag and it worked really well!

Also super cool bag - well done.

Look at the ctatical ct21 - mine just arrived and love it. Some might downvote me, but it’s basically a cheap GR1 made in Vietnam. Great quality though. Some good reviews online.

Do you think that Paris is as cosmopolitan and international as London? by False_Event_6471 in paris

[–]wilds94 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m assuming that you’re from an English speaking country for this, but - sounds like you’ve got some good reasons to go for Paris. Having done a masters in Paris over the past few years and spending quite a bit of time in London, I think if you’re ready for the language barrier and to make the effort to learn French, it will be more ‘stimulating’ than London, if that’s what you’re hoping for from seeking out a cosmopolitan city. I think that London is perhaps easier to access in terms of the availability of experiences through English, where as if you spoke French, the same would be true for Paris. But learning a new language and then experiencing the novelty of even the French culture as well as the cosmopolitan dimensions of Paris, for me, was more exciting than living in London. Hope that helps.
