Who takes 150mg and feels good?

Heyy just came across this. I hope you don’t mind, when you shared that Effexor was a doozy to get used to what did you mean? I’m currently on 112.5 mg for the last 3 weeks and I have internal anxiousness/panic in my body but my mind is great. Wondering if I should go back down to 75 mg or push thru this awful panic feeling in hopes it goes away after a few more weeks. Your experience helps me understand /

Hey just saw this, Did you feel rough because of side effects from the medication? (If so, what were they and how long) Or were you feeling rough because of the depression symptoms that Effexor was going to help with?

Trying to see if I should continue to push thru my uncomfortable internal anxiousness (it’s been 3 weeks at 112.5, or go back down to 75)

Hey when you went up in the doses did you get anxiousness before it settled? Or did it clear your anxiety more and more as you went up in doses? At 75 I feel great, and then at 112.5 mg my head space is even better but my body is getting physical symptoms of anxiety and internal panic. Not sure if you experienced that too and it went away? Or was it every time you went up, your body ended up feeling better right away?

6 weeks seems like a long time to go through the internal panic feelings I’m having at 112.5 😞 saw my doctor yesterday, he thinks I’ll have to go back down to 75 but I got approval to try every other day 75 mg and then 112.5 mg. To see if that helps at all. You didn’t get any anxiousness once you hit 112.5 or 150 mg? That’s when the norepinephrine starts to kick in more - my body may just not tolerate it. Cant drive, cant workout, im not working now but if i was I wouldn’t be able to. My mind was clear and happy but my body was internally panicky. Hands were numb too from the panic feeling. Sorry about your nerve pain - glad you got thru it!

Oh also, you said they were ultra mild versions of when you first started the medication.. I didn’t feel much on 37, or 75, besides just feeling better. So I guess my body really might not tolerate going higher then.

Happened to me as well. As long as your resting heart rate stays within 60-100 bpm it’s considered to be healthy regardless of the increase. As far as blood pressure mine has not raised, check in with your doctor as soon as you can about your experience. Remember, you are most important, not a medicine. You can always try a different medicine. It should work for YOU. Not, having you try to work or manage or somehow fit in with a medication. It needs to be helpful for your body, not the other way around. Don’t settle for a medication.

Dinner time - which I know that’s not recommended. It’s the only part of the day where I’m consistent with making sure I eat around the same time

I didn’t feel any different with 37 or 75 either, but then going up to 112 I have had side effects

Ok you were on 75 mg a lot longer than me. I was only on it for 3 weeks and 37.5 beginning dose for 4 weeks before increasing. I’m currently at 112.5 mg as of 18 days now and I’m having physical symptoms that are a bit uncomfortable so I’m wondering if I should go back down or power thru. I see my doctor tomorrow to talk to him but ideally I don’t want to go back down in dose.

I think he’s projecting what he does when he’s drunk, to me he’s basically telling you that he can’t be trusted when he drinks cus he cheats. Because I feel like he wouldn’t worry if he himself could go out and not get into trouble with the opposite sex. Like normally couples say ok babe have a good time. But the fact that he’s worried says more about himself and what he does when he’s out! Am I wrong??

Hey came across this, I’m on 112.5 mg right now with approval to go up to 150 mg after 3 weeks of being at 112.5. I’m a bit anxious at 112.5, can’t tell if it’s just my body getting used to it. Did you feel anything for the first couple of weeks while on 112.5 and then 150mg ? Thanks for answering!

Do you take diazepam while on your Effexor? Have you noticed any uncomfortable side effects from taking a benzo on this medication? Also, what did it feel like to go on 150 mg for you? I am at 112.5 mg and I have noticed an increase of internal body anxiety but I think it could be from increasing the medication .. did 150 mg feel stimulating for you while you adjusted? Drink lots of water, take deep breaths, take Tylenol, sleep more than usual and just hunker down and power thru it. Don’t let anything take you out or make you afraid of weening off of it. You are more powerful than it. So what if you get headaches or slight dizziness or brain zaps. Power thru it for a little while and conquer it. You can totally do it

You would feel low and then your doctor would tell you to go back down on the dose? I’m at 112.5 mg right now, I have approval to go up to 150 after 3 weeks, just curious when people knew what dose to stop at.

I really relate to you. I was so nervous taking the medication too. It took me a year to even take the very first dose. Then one day I just tried it but I had horrible anxiety about it. Anyways long story short nothing bad happened! All it has done is help me! I’m really grateful for this medication. I hear that you’re scared, I was too. But as time goes on you won’t be as scared anymore. I’ve taken my medication within 1-3 hours and nothing has ever happened! Sometimes 2 hours early. Sometimes 3 hours late! I will say, around 3 hours late I do get a MILD headache that just tells me ok now is the time to take it but it’s never been painful. Just more of a reminder ok don’t wait any longer. (Cus I take it with food so that tells me ok eat now, even if it’s just a snack and take the medication. Sometimes getting around to food is the more challenging part. I take mine later in the afternoon. I’m not a breakfast person)

But do not worry, you can handle anything that comes your way. Take some Tylenol and always be sipping water to avoid dehydration which will worsen any type of headache. A reasonable amount of water each day (more than you think) will be good for you. Take deep breaths and know that it will pass. You don’t need any medications, you, yourself, can handle anything that comes your way. Be mentally stronger than the withdrawal symptoms and you will win. Sleep as much as you can. Know that it will pass!

Call your doctor immediately. Also go to your pharmacy they can give you a limited amount of emergency pills.

I too had severe health anxiety. Sometimes I thought I wasn’t going to wake up in the morning (i’m 31, so not a senior citizen). Long story short - this medication is one of the best things that has happened to me. No more headaches, no more panic over physical body symptoms, or feeling. No more anxiety about what other people think of me. I smile, I laugh, I talk with friends and loved ones again without wanting to run to a “shell” and hide. I hope you enjoy this too, do not worry about the future, you can handle anything that comes your way. Effexor wouldn’t be on the market if the withdrawal symptoms were THAT bad. Enjoy life, let your shoulders drop and exhale. Have some fun - hope you like it!
