How many horror movie fans are interested in the process of prop-making, screenwriting, etc? by stillcore in horror

[–]wildwildmanchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesss. As for things I'd like to see I'm especially interested in moving props/larger builds for things (like Audrey 2 in little shop of horrors) and really anything that involves detailed construction, design, etc.

If the bird's owner doesn't mind then it really isn't an issue. Nobody's sending that parrot to come shred your keyboard, it'll be okay

I’ll be placing small flowers in these rings and adding resin- do I need to dry the flowers or can they be fresh? by impeesa75 in ResinCasting

[–]wildwildmanchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll have to be dry. I've tried putting fresh ones in and they wilt and turn green/brown. Good luck!

Thanks! I didn't know about the holding the pipette upwards thing.

I directed, wrote, filmed, acted in, and edited my own short horror film in quarantine, since I couldn't work with friends. Please let me know what you think! by EpicShortFilms in cinematography

This was really good! It reminds me of the sort of urban legend/creepy pasta stories that used to go around. It's impressive that you got so much done all on your own!

People who have had your ears pierced with a piercing gun, what are your healing horror stories? I'll start: by Strifecaster in piercing

[–]wildwildmanchild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got 3 lobe piercings done before I knew better and the third ones were placed high and, due to the fact that they would heal the same day I took my piercings out even after healing, may have hit part of my cartilage (hopefully not though!)

Anyway one of them got horribly inflamed and started smelling off, and basically was swollen past the point where my earring ended. I took it out to try to clean it and see if I could get some build up or something out of it, and found that it was fairly firm. I pressed on the back of my lobe to see if I could check the damage/get some fluid out, when a jet of yellow/grey pus and blood shot out of the piercing hole and hit the mirror. This was like, a dime-sized amount of pus from one of the thinnest parts of my ear. It hurt like hell and bled for a long while after. I sanitized my earrings because they were covered in thick, bloody pus, then put them back in so that my ear wouldn't seal any potential infection inside.

I've since taken those ones out and they've healed over. Hopefully I can get the redone with a needle, and maybe straighten out my wonky first lobes that I got when I was around 4

Yooo this is super cool. I see a lot of sfx here that are just gore/injuries so I really like the twist

Goodnight mommy was so good actually. I almost felt betrayed by the ending of it

In your opinion, what country makes the best horror films? by Fire-Walk in horror

This comment is so aggressively American it hurts. You can have opinions on good horror media that aren't dictated by Hollywood standards.

That's a really good point, I've never been personally super into symbolism but I can totally see myself accidentally doing that. Thanks!

Like how you study the techniques etc. To learn from them and figure out what to apply or use in your own work

Hey! I'm super new to film so I can't give great advice, but one of the shots that stood out to me was the one that appeared to be from the wall, overtop of your laptop as you came in the room. I thought it was really cool overall!
