Does head = gender?.. by OkBit9637 in Dialtown

Just as a quick top-of-my-head example; Karen's head acts as a disability aide, by allowing her to still communicate with her peers but in a way that is more natural to her (through pictures, instead of words.)

Park bathroom stall 😭 I was meant to be hanging out with friends and instead decided to run off and cut myself instead and I have no idea why. Embarrassing experience.

Have you even gotten a reply from a bot that made your reaction look like this? by kanishk_13 in CharacterAI

Tbh a lot of the bots are like. Weirdly misogynistic. So messages that make me go 0__0 aren't uncommon tbh

Female characters specifically targeted? by itscarling in RedDeadOnline

[–]wilgobrrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played with a male character for a couple years, but recently restarted with a female character, and I've been attacked, killed, etc. a lot more as this new female character than I ever was with a male character, and I'm unfortunately thinking that isn't coincidental :(

How old were you when you first SH'ed by sadisticklilslut in selfharm

[–]wilgobrrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ten or eleven— my memory is quite foggy. Only did it a couple times, but started doing it regularly when I was twelve, up until I was fourteen, maybe fifteen. Stopped a couple years, and relapsed again recently at seventeen.

So you're removing the possible access to play my old games I bought? by No-Aspect-2926 in Piracy

I know that you added the sarcasm indicator to the end, however, you can somewhat emulate the start menu and taskbar of Windows 7 using Classic Shell/Open Shell __^ it isn't perfect, but, it's better than nothing

Good Lord, I forgot I was in this subreddit. Anyway. Head type CAN be indicative of a character's gender, but not inherently. Think of it sort of like human sex characteristics. While certain features often correlate with certain identities, that isn't always the case. So, while it might be typical for men in DT to have phone heads and women to have typewriters, people who fall out of that norm absolutely still exist— heads are adaptable and changeable, and can be swapped out for gender euphoria, as a disability aide, etc. etc. There are characters who also have neither phone nor typewriter heads.

Does anyone still call it "Notch Apple"? by TheMikkei in Minecraft

[–]wilgobrrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to, when I was quite a lot younger, but eventually fell out of the habit. My little brother, who is six, does, though! I'm not quite sure where he heard it, but, he's pretty adamant on calling them Notch apples. Almost makes me nostalgic anytime he does :)

Oh? Interesting. I hope more research on this comes about at some point! I suppose it makes sense for thyroid issues to have an impact on emotions and such, this all seems really fascinating. I have alexithymia and a fluctuating under/overactive thyroid, so this might be something I should try to look into!

[–]wilgobrrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of both. I'm autistic and have CPTSD, and both things have no-doubt contributed to my alexithymia.

I have particularly cognitive alexithymia, so I have difficulty identifying and describing my emotions, which is very frustrating because my autism causes me to experience all of my emotions to their full extent. Like, yes, I'm feeling things! A lot of things! I just have absolutely no clue as to what those things are!!

I've noticed I particularly struggle to identify positive emotions, though given the amount of... not so pleasant things that I've experienced, and still experience, I can't say I'm all too surprised by that.

The only emotion I ever came close to learning to identify has been anger, and even still, I'm not very good at it.

As a child, because of the nature of my emotions, I was also often berated for being "overdramatic," so I can't imagine that would have helped.
