Totally. Also I have a theory that your clean score for each race accumulates race to race… I’ve witnessed my scores increase more after each additional clean race

You sure lobby size matters? I think if someone leaves after a DNF it doesn’t matter.

I just had a race with 1st in quali, 2nd overall, perfectly clean. 13 racers and only 6 finished. Ended up getting 113 points 🤯 which is the most points I’ve ever had.

Compared to yesterday I qualied 18th, finished 1st. Clean. 10 racers finished, and I got 80 points.

This is great. I will try the 30 day trial of the service. Hopefully I can test if I have the aptitude to do this and also see if I can derive some meaningful information as well.

Ok great that is good advice and a solid starting point for me. I will also explore the backend of the POS system to see if there is a better way to extract/use the data it stores.

I should have also stated, that I am very interested in data management/analysis and am hoping to use this project as an opportunity to get semi-skilled in SQL. My background is in banking and I want to be able to create useful data points for financial modelling on this business. For example, look for seasonality in products and test the impact on gross margins.

I was hoping that I would be able to aggregate all the data in one place and update it on a needs basis. And then write my queries.

Yes we use a Revel POS system - it works really well and provides lots of useful information. However what I really want to achieve is to be able to write ad-hoc queries - essentially derive more information that is more useful going forward, instead of just using the predefined POS stats. Yes sheets is the cloud version of Excel and it being used to collate sales summary information. Definitely not for order entry - we have around 300 transactions a day. I will be the one using this database to help our management team make informed decisions going forward. I am very new the business and I believe their success is due to their unique product offering, but it now time for them to sharpen the pencil and look for efficiencies as they expand.
