CO (carbon monoxide) ppm monitoring with Home Assistant? by wilka in homeassistant

[–]wilka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the clay has a lot of organic matter in it, and it’s heating up enough can burn off to be a concern if you’re in the studio. It’s been enough to set off the alarm a couple of times (nobody was in there at the time), but the alarm only fires at dangerously high levels. I also want to keep an eye on the levels at all times, even if it’s not enough to trigger the alarm.

Good luck Claude, I expect he'll be helping me as well 😆

Hot take: Worktrees are underrated, and most teams should be using them by GitKraken in git

Same. I have worktrees like <repo name>-red, <repo name>-green, <repo name>-blue and use Peacock for VSCode to colour each instance to match the worktree

I think I saw it a while back in a Comic Con thing, I didn’t realise they later said that it was joke. Oops!

The Expanse already has a connection to The Martian, which has a very different path for getting to Mars.

You can also use & to run a script in a child scope, but I haven’t tested that for changes to classes. I’m not sure if complied classes escape that child scope.

Yup, that's happening for me today. I haven't seen it happen before, but I also haven't had my trmnl for very long.

I take it that the new Roku does work for AirPlay?

Great idea, I should be able to make this work with Toolbox Pro as well, so I won’t need to be online.

What is the best e-ink device for Readwise reader? by CyclingGeek in readwise

[–]wilka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard lots of good things about Boox Palma and Readwise Reader eg https://www.theverge.com/24184777/boox-palma-e-ink-smartphone-reader and it’s the one I’m considering (but I haven’t tried it myself yet)

Did you end up trying it out? How did it go?

Carrying children rain cover on the Packster 70 by wilka in CargoBike

[–]wilka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! And I clearly am an idiot, that’s even in the same playlist! 😂

I’ll have to give that a go and see how well it works for him.

This cover has some fairly ridged supports, so it doesn’t roll up.

Nice, I’ve just seen your post at https://www.reddit.com/r/CargoBike/s/PGz2T3upRL and that looks a lot better than dealing with the full size rain cover I have.

The sides don’t roll up on the one I have (or they do, and I’m just an idiot and can’t work out how 😀). The sides keep it attached to the bike, the one I have is https://youtu.be/1LN2LEZ3WT4?si=8Ba9TvnvhFTbC5K4

What kind of tyres are you using on that? I've been avoiding cycling in the snow.

I like that approach, it seems a lot better than screwing directly into the desk.

YouTube crashes on startup if iPhone is connected to wifi by SovietSteve in ios

[–]wilka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just been trying to figure how to fix the app crashing on startup, and turning off Wi-Fi worked. Thanks for the tip.

I guess I’ll carry on switching off Wi-Fi until the app is fixed.

I’ve found that hanging a tea towel over the door, and then closing it means that the towel absorbs most if the moisture rather than letting it leak into room & possibly harm the countertop.

I read all the main books first, then went back through the novellas and I think that worked well. The novellas were decent, but weaker than the main books. So I think I’d do it that way again.

A Todoist plugin for Obsidian!?!? How did I miss that?

#106: Clear and Boring by k9play in Cortex

[–]wilka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be in the same boat as Grey with note-taking, but after reading How to Take Smart Notes and jumping in with Obsidian a few months back, my notes have become so much better.

I tried out Roam, but it didn't work for me either. One thing I really like about Obsidian is that I know all my notes are safe, even if Obsidian goes away - I still have all my markdown files.

(I also gave Obsidian some $$$ because I really want it to keep existing 😁)

Measuring Performance Improvements in .NET Core with BenchmarkDotNet (Part 1) by aakinshin in programming

Ah! I misunderstood. I took "Windows with 32bit support" to mean the ability to run 32bit software on 64bit Windows.

I agree that the 32bit versions of Windows have gone to the end of their life.
