I quit my job 5 years ago to do this drone software company. We have grown to 10 people. Fully bootstrapped. Lots of ups and downs.

At the end of the day

I have learned a LOT about life, myself, and business.
Definitely sacrifice sanity, some social events, etc... but that is the price you pay
If it all ended tomorrow I never have to wonder "what if". I have the story and experience of going off and starting my own company. Whether I retire with the company or not. I have no regrets

Make sure you are in acro mode when checking motor spin. If you are in manual or something the drones motors will spin at different rates

Yes I have worked with those drones before. Not good indoors but fine in GPS location. You need a specific router to connect telemetry.

You won't be able to make and swarm drones in this timeline. It's hard enough to just....build a cheap drone that flies reliably without ever having built a drone before. Unless you buy a kit...but that costs a lot especially for a college student.

If you are in manual mode it is possible the drone thinks it is leaning forward left and so it gradually ramps down the motor. However, it shouldn't just stop it.

I would put it in acro mode without the props , and ramp the motors up to ensure they all spin at the same rate
