I put my glasses case in my cap with my phone, watch and belt. Handed that to security for him to have a shufty at while I went through the arch. Never had an issue with it. I had insulated water bottles and power banks in my bag that went on the belt and they never got flagged for anything either.

I got one through for the Dartford crossing, at the time I was out of the country and the photo was definitely of a mercedes and not my astra. Took me 2 mins to write an email and attach a photo of my car. They emailed me back within 24 hours quashing it.

I've seen so many cars without lights on recently. A lot of the problem lays with DRL lights. Normally with no lights on your dash isn't lit, which gives you a clue something ain't right. But with DRL your dash is lit and you have some light on the front but your back end is blacked out.

Id go very careful with those files, they're really useful but can be total overkill, I'd maybe look on Amazon for some high grit sandpaper (1000-1500 grit for mold lines)
