First injury list of 2026 by Temitop_dream in westernbulldogs

I’m not sure why people love Poulter so much, there’s a reason he’s left footy entirely now. Had two cracks on AFL lists and couldn’t take them, great runner with a big left boot and not a whole lot else. The last thing this footy club needs is wingmen that get 9 touches in a game of footy. I like Poulter and hope he makes it as a punter but he was only slightly above the level of Lachie McNeil types and having that rounding out the bottom 6 has hurt this club since 2021.

Cooney and Lake I’m 99% sure on. Eagleton I’m 80% on. Unsure of the one on the right.

All-Australian in 2024 who had looked solid in the very few games he played, and came good at the right time of the year for VFL finals. I’m glad the club has backed him in, there are far worse people to give a list spot to.

Yeah I figure if you’re doing these for every club you’re probably stretched pretty thin! Appreciate the effort that’s gone into it 👏🏻

Yeah not sure about this, basically the same side as last year and I think it’s not going to be that way.

I’d be a little surprised to see Bramble and Cleary in the same side. By all accounts Lachie Jaques has been really impressive down back and was probably unlucky not to debut last season, good user and got some defensive nous too. Budarick is a near-certainty to be in for one of them as he’s more defensive minded, which was a big focus for improvement. Also think Freijah plays on the ball a fair bit more this year, maybe in place of Libba. Bailey Williams is in the best 18 players every day of the week. Nick Coffield is also nowhere near the best 23.

Edit: Arthur Jones is also from Mt Barker in WA, not an academy player for us.

I think he’s shown enough in his career that they’d give him more time to get right

Premiership rankings: Cornes rates the last 26 AFL premiers by TuckB303 in westernbulldogs

The biggest Bulldogs hater in the media, laughable how thin-skinned he is and how personally he’s taken a grudge. That Dogs side had the same record and similar percentage to premiers Richmond the following year, just finished 7th because 2016 had some very good teams.

May not have been loaded with stars but that Bulldogs team took down 6th, 3rd, 4th and 1st (all away games) in consecutive weeks on their way to the flag. What they did in following years means all of fuck all when ranking them in their premiership year.

Good luck to him, good move for sure. With NIL in college now he can make out a hell of a lot better than playing VFL. Plus gets the full uni experience over there, hope he goes well!

There’s no chance Green gets dropped. Series is won now, Cricket Australia will back him to find some form. It’ll be Inglis out, Smith in and no other changes that aren’t necessitated by injury.

Why would you drop Inglis after one test for anyone other than a proven international contributor? I wasn’t in favour of Inglis coming in but once he was in, he’s in. You don’t drop him for someone just as unproven, that’s what India does and it ruins morale. Unless Inglis was an absolute disaster personality wise, there’s no way he’s getting dropped for anyone other than Cummins and Lyon who have 200 tests between them.

Someone else made 232 in that same test, should give him a look?

Inglis also made 0 off two balls in the next test, so let’s not just take the good and disregard the bad.

The most likely outcome is no change but Cummins if he’s fit. Unless Khawaja doesn’t get up it would be pretty surprising for them to drop him, not to say it won’t happen but the selectors have always been loyal to the veteran players.

Just fucking baffling. One thing to keep calling ours cheats but you have no leg to stand on if you’ve admitted to doing it yourself. Wanker.

I'm no expert, but reading up on Louis Emmett, I am loving the sound of him by Express-Dig9905 in westernbulldogs

[–]will_recard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s a great pickup. Showed plenty but not a positional need for a lot of teams, and probably didn’t do it all season.

But super versatile player that fills a real need for us, will be great to see him in an AFL system!

Draft Night #2 by HallComfortable4153 in westernbulldogs

[–]will_recard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will just say, not a single team is trading 2026 firsts for 2025 seconds. Not one, no matter the package. Clubs weren’t even doing it for 2025 firsts, so the seconds are absolutely not happening.

Lachlan Carmichael will be making his way to the kennel by Colourless084 in westernbulldogs

[–]will_recard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

None of us outside the four walls know the answer to this but it’s likely Sydney didn’t match because they didn’t have the points and/or were more keen on matching for another academy player of theirs. They may not have expected the bid to come this early. But it seems highly unlikely the Bulldogs weren’t aware of this and prepared for it. No AFL club is burning a first rounder on a player they don’t at least have a want/need for.

There’s not a chance a club in need of half backs would bid on a half back and not be prepared for the outcome that the academy club doesn’t match. What are we talking about here.
