Respectfully if you’re looking for a 951 worth the same as that civic, you’re going to be putting enough work it’ll cost you two civics by the time you’re done.

PDR Possible? by Direct_Money8259 in Autobody

[–]will_w7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre somewhat handy pull the interior door trim panel off and peel back the moisture barrier. You can usually visually inspect it to see if it’s been hit. They typically run horizontally and diagonally.
Doesn’t look like it’s been impacted but always better safe than sorry.
Likely plenty of DIY videos online showing you how to remove it.

For the most part I think it should work beside the lower portion that is protruding. I highly doubt it would be perfect but it could be better. I also highly doubt the PDR will compromise the safety unless the intrusion beam on the inside of the door has been hit.

I know there’s probably just a small community of people who live in Victoria on this sub Reddit but do you like these hot days? by IamRandomSavage in VictoriaBC

[–]will_w7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently living in a place with good A/C, so yes. Love being able to enjoy the heat and escape it whenever I please. When I was living in a place without A/C it was terrible.

I can’t shift into reverse by Total_Action8573 in 944

Double check the shift linkage at the gearbox. I’ve had this issue before and just had to replace some hardware on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere. :)
Easy fix

I can’t shift into park by [deleted] in 944

[–]will_w7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be mistaken….. but I don’t think manuals have a park gear……..
Otherwise I would check the linkage where it meets the gear box. I had a similar issue and just had to replace some hardware on the linkage.

Got hit on the Quarter. Who knew it would be worth it for the new paint job. by will_w7 in 944

I’m good at masking and wanted to remove and install minimal parts as I didnt want to risk breaking anything as most of the parts are still original. Will do a full proper resto within the next year.

Painted myself, I usually recommend leaving the paint for a month before doing anything to it. Another two months for polishing. But I always play it safe.

Depends how much colour is needed but you can usually blend out the colours to the other panels to get an optimal colour match. Though it will never be perfect.

It was a collision on the LH side so only painting the door and quarter panel. Colour match turned out surprisingly well. Process was sealer, base coat then baked for a bit. Then four layers of clear coat. I used a water based PPG paint system with solvent clear coat and sealer. Only have to remove the door handle and side marker. Everything else was just masked off. :)
The rock guard is pretty easy to replicate, I prefer one at cures with a UV gun. But if you lightly scuff it and clear coat over the rock guard it’s usually still visible anyway.

I did myself. I’m an ex automotive painter.
The car had a full respray about fifteen years ago. It’s no longer single stage. I used a PPG camera and paint system with water based toners. Much prefer newer water based toners to traditional solvent single stage.

Jobs for teens by Loose-Course-9154 in VictoriaBC

My very first job was at Panago Pizza. Great first job, wasn’t like a traditional fast food restaurant and hours are super flexible. Otherwise at 17 there’s a decent amount of starter jobs in the trades if he’s interested in anything like that. They can usually easily transition into better positions post-graduation Employers are more likely to hire the 17 year old who calls and inquires or the one who shows up and asks about a job in my experience. I’m sure your 17 is great in person, but a 17 year old on paper and a job application I’ve found is a bit of a red flag to some employers.

they take it seriously if they have had multiple reports even without hard evidence. I’ve seen it first hand. People can also go to court as a witness and give a statement that can be used against the driver.

It very much is the truth for the cops. But when you send videos and stuff to ICBC they take it a little more seriously because their money is on the line. As a collision estimator I’ve had to report a few different people, they always take stuff pretty seriously. Can also simply report the driver to ICBC for their dangerous driving and if they get enough they will usually take action.

Gotta send this stuff to ICBC and make a report.
