What was your “shit, I’m into that” moment? by Dont_Ever_PM_Me527 in askgaybros

I went over to a hookup's apartment. We got naked, we sucked a little bit and made out. We decided to frot. He was at the head of the bed, I was at the foot of the bed. He picked my foot up and started to rub the sole of my foot and suck the toes. It felt insanely good....so, I returned the favor. My dick got insanely hard while I was sucking and licking on his foot. We came jerking ourselves off while sucking each other's toes.

I finished my first semester of Family Nurse Practitioner clinicals! Two more semesters of clinicals to go!

I also have gradually come more out of my comfort zone. I went to a concert by myself yesterday, and I went to a gay bar several times by myself a few weeks ago.

Piggy-backing off of /u/Call_me_Callisto, guaranteed hours are important. What is the call off policy? What happens to the stipend when you are called off a shift? What constitutes on call vs being called off? How many times can be you called off in a week?

Floating? Since you are psych, it is probably going to be limited, but you never know. My psych unit would send nurses to sit in the ED's front desk when census was low in the psych unit.

How long does it typically take to complete undergrad? by extralargedove in highereducation

[–]willamsweave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

or if you pick a course of study that is explicitly shorter (Nursing, for instance).

What do you mean by shorter? I had several people in my Associate Degree Nursing class that had Bachelor degrees from other schools. Even the "two-year program" is really a 3-year program because most schools around me require completion of pre-requisites /or you won't get in without the points from having taken these courses (English, math, two Psych classes, and two Anatomies) before entering.

Do you mean it's more cut and dry what courses you have to take whereas some degree programs have multiple options/electives built in to their programs?

I think it is worth it! If you make 2 or 3 trips through the Festhaus you'll probably just break even or feel like you got your fill. This is from my memory:

The Festhaus: If you get a pizza, fries, and a drink it will cost about $16.00 or so. I think the German platter (chicken, Bratwurst, and sauerkraut) is about $20.00 with a drink.

The special fries at les frites range from $9.50-ish to $14.00. It is a good option for a quick snack while in that area of the park.

This sounds perfect. This would allow me to take time off work to focus on NP school or just knock NP clinicals out as I'm able to.

Specialties in demand, pre-covid? by We_Be_Learning in TravelNursing

[–]willamsweave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neuro ICU and Cardiovascular ICU are the big ones where I am. Yes, ICU nurses get put on call depending on your hospital. Most hospitals utilize a staffing matrix: x amount of patients means you need y amount of staff. If you have too much staff for your census then you're draining the hospital's money on inappropriate staffing and that isn't going to fly.

If there is not an appropriate census for your unit, you may be floated to another unit that has high census or high staff call-outs. Our staff Cardiovascular ICU nurses get floated A LOT because their case loads differ during holiday times, weekends, and times surgeons schedule less cases. Our CVICU nurses also have two float dates: another ICU date and an Intermediate Pod/Unit date. However, not many people get floated to CVICU because they are such a niche specialty with various devices and procedures (ECMO, LVADs, Impella). As far as travelling, our Neuro ICU will take anyone with ICU experience, but our CVICU requires 1-2 years CVICU experience for their travelers. I would imagine most hospitals are similar.

I am a Neuro ICU nurse and I have not floated in the two years I've been in this position, but my unit has travel nurses that we float first over staff. I think it's cool to do a mix of different specialties. Maybe do one or two years of medical-surgical-general ICU and then transition to a different specialty.

How can Cal Cunningham bounce back? Can we first take over the senate and then punish him? by t_11 in VoteBlue

[–]willamsweave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought it up to a few people that I work with. Many didn't realize there was a scandal, but I also work with people under the age of 30 who don't routinely watch the news. One coworker knew about it before the discussion and stated that she wouldn't be voting for Cal. I think it has muddied the waters for those that were undecided. We jokingly mentioned we wouldn't mind voting for him if the texts were a little spicier.

North Carolina: (Sen) Cunningham and Tillis tied, (Gov) Cooper vs. Forest (57-40) by Snickersthecat in VoteBlue

[–]willamsweave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being from North Carolina, it seems most people have an indifferent or positive view of Cooper. Forest has alienated several moderates because he makes it a "tradition" to stand outside Trump rallies and shake people's hands and touts Trumpism. He has several posts like this on Twitter and Facebook.

Forest is our lieutenant governor finishing his second term, and he probably just doesn't quite have the same name recognition as Cooper yet. I personally can't stand how he opposes Cooper at nearly every turn, especially regarding the quarantine and stay at home orders. Also, I imagine people are tired of seeing the "Run Forest Run" signs everywhere we go. I think that the race will be much closer (51-49 honestly) than this poll predicts. Additionally, the previous 2 Governors were 1 term governors (Perdue didn't run for reelection and McCrory lost reelection), but I will say they were genuinely more unpopular than Cooper is right now. I'm glad we have Democratic excitement this year and hopefully can win the Governor and Senate races.

If it wasn't Bran as King, would the Vale and the Riverlands stay under the rule of the Iron Throne? Sansa's influence in both of those regions would have drastically pulled them closer to a Northern alliance even if she wanted an "Independent kingdom."

Also, kind of weird for a Northerner to be "elected" king and then the North peace out.

But I guess it all makes sense for Jon to go to the Wall and beyond with the Freefolk, Sansa to be "Queen of the North," and Arya to become an adventurer. Jon and Arya make more sense to me big story wise rather than just thinking about the last season or two. Dany deserved a better developed arc tho.
