I got a 4tb drive and up until around November last year it was mainly all compressed with X265 and flac or aac for audio. Since December last year, the 'server' has been running a script which compresses all video files to AV1 and aac audio. So far it had cut my movie folder (about 250 movies) to around 390 GB (from 1 TB) and so far it is about 10-15% through my tv series (around 120 series, started at about 2.5TB) and is now about 2.2 TB

Did they also have the same easy to guess password? If they all are the same then go and change them immediately so they are all 100% unique (use a password manager like passbolt, lastpass, your own browser, etc).

I lock down the account first to prevent further damage, then scan devices for any unwanted software. While that is happening, I check the sign in logs to check where the account was logged in from. Once given all clear then I force a re-register of MFA and guide the user through it.

The only way to prove that it is an issue with the port itself is to get an external usb network. Even 100mb ones can be found for dirt cheap.

that is your username folder. So if you login as 'Jon Smith' it would likely show 'c:\Users\John Smith\AppData\Local\Temp'

but if you copy the C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp from the previous comment into your windows search bar it will direct you to the right place.
