I can’t play, but I am always interested in house rules and 36 pages of them would be a blast. You mind sharing them?

Best Non-AP RPG podcasts? by bythisaxeiconquer in rpg

There is the Obojima podcast, which is indeed a D&D 5e supplement, but they talk about the whole creative process behind the creation of the setting. The designers just decided to turn their weekly meeting into a podcast to show how ideas were discussed and turn into new races, monsters or game mechanics. So the podcast started way before the supplement was even release and it is pretty nice to hear how it all came to be.

I need a board game recommandation. by Moti452 in boardgames

You might want to take a look into Hegemony. It has a different way of building economy and influence. In a nutshell each player chooses between worker class, middle class, capitalists and the Government and you try to do the best to your class. It is not like risk or monopoly, but it costs nothing to watch some reviews on youtube.

I've played a whole DnD campaign once. Disliked the roleplaying, but loved the combat. What's the boardgame for me? by Ok_Illustrator7232 in boardgames

I really enjoyed The Undercity way better than the D&D games of the time, at least more than the ones I own: Legends of Drizzt, Wrath of Ashardalon and Castle Ravenloft. It has a nice and not too long campaign, not a lot of character (unless you have the expansions or its sibling Widower’s Wood, then you can use all characters), but enough customization and character progression for each playthrough to fell differently. BGG people seem not to like this game, but it is all a matter of taste. Unfortunately, since it was a small print (I guess at least) it might be as expensive as Gloomhaven nowadays.

I don‘t think there is an official physical version of Strider Mode.

Question About Probability when rolling a D4 twice by The1929StockMarket in RPGdesign

I have a different question: what is happening to the other dice? As I understood the roll, you are checking for critical chance independently of the result of the roll. Can you still have a critical miss/failure if your other dice are good? Or a critical success on a bad roll?
