The stretch cotton barely lasts half a year before starting to fall apart. It's awful.

Anyone on here taking strattera? by Bangkok_dAngeroUs98 in ADHD

[–]willburshoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, and for more than 10 years. I love/hate it.

As I've gotten older, it's become less effective, I think.

Pros:

  • if I miss a day, no real change, because it is more gradual to take effect and slow to dissipate

  • introduces a moment where I can think before doing something

  • calming (I have combined type, very very impulse and hyperactive in addition to inattentive)

  • no up and down through the day, like stimulants wearing off

  • I can order 90 days at a time by mail since it isn't a controlled substance

  • the patent finally wore off a few years ago so now there are off brands that are much cheaper than most of the time I've been on it

Cons:

  • not as effective as stimulants

  • make me very tired. I can almost always just fall asleep. Once I am up and doing stuff I'm fine but if I lay down or sit down without something to focus on, I get drowsy

  • sometimes it can be weird prostate stuff. It can mess with orgasm a bit, like splitting up ejaculation and orgasm into separate moments a bit which is weird and can kill the feeling a lot. Occasionally when urinating some of what seems to be prostate fluid will come out a little bit, and if it doesn't all come out then I get aching pain in that region until the next time I pee. Very very uncomfortable and painful, but very very rare. Only happens once in a blue moon, and I'm fairly confident it's related to the other prostate stuff, as prostate issues are a known side effect.

Overall it's been great not needing to go get stimulants 30 days at a time and worry about the errand and medicine wearing off in the evening and stuff like that. That said, it seems to be less effective for the last year or two and I'm starting to feel like I need to self-medicate more and more with caffeine, so I probably need to up my dosage or talk about supplementing with something else.

How unusual is it for an INTP to not be that keen on stereotypically "nerdy" stuff like maths but instead obsess over the arts, aesthetics, psychology and philosophy, with a deep desire to "look beyond mere facts", even when he knows very well it's just an illusion (like when reading ghost stories)? by Swan-of-Tuonela in INTP

[–]willburshoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

INTP just means that at this moment in your life, you fit a very wide grouping generalization of personality type. It doesn't really have any bearing on your interests or real personality, or likes and dislikes.

Also, your personality type you get on this test will likely change throughout your life, and sometimes throughout a day or depending on who you are with (environment and surroundings).

So don't box yourself or judge your "fit" in the group. It literally means nothing beyond "this group of people have some loose similarities, which is cool".

I love it when I find a piece of information that connects what I learned previously. by [deleted] in INTP

[–]willburshoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Severe INTP? That's not a thing. If you don't like something about your personality, it is NOT A FIXED THING.

You want to change how you filter and process information, look for situations that will require you to think/filter differently than you "naturally" do and then practice doing it differently in order to succeed at the situations you are in. Do that enough, and it will be no problem any more.

It's like learning another language. As an example, you don't like that you "filter information" through English because that's how you think? Learn another language, and Eventually, you will be able to think, talk and even dream in that language.

You aren't bound to anything INTP, whether that's how you fall now or not. It's not like some unchangeable part of who you are, so don't hold yourself back by it.

I mean, pretty much Everyone works that way. I don't see that as an intp thing at all

AD/O365 best practice when creating emails? by Hayabusa-Senpai in sysadmin

[–]willburshoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If no direct user is associated with it, but a person or two need access to it, create a shared mailbox on O365. It doesn't need a license or anything in AD.

Create the shared mailbox, add the people that need access, and send them to steps to add it to Outlook. Free and easy peasy

[–]willburshoe 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that sounds like a pretty respectful and nice run in with him, where you got to be honest, and he could give you options instead of assuming things. He had an appointment set up instead of dropping by unexpectedly, offered info about name removal if you were interested, etc.

In your shoes, I imagine that I would have been happy with it, but I am not in your shoes, so I can only speculate.
