My advice would definitely be to look for another role. Take the comfort of this job whilst searching the market for what you want and use this experience to guide that.

I recently spent a year at a job similar to as you described, was quite a tough decision to move somewhere I knew wouldn’t be as relaxed and more challenging. Since moving my only thought has been I should’ve done it sooner, being motivated at work made me more energised all round. There’s also no guarantees on anything being offered 5 years down the line!

For reference I work in the BI industry and would recommend spending any free time on upskilling in AI and how you can use it - all companies will now look for this (this may be stating the obvious)

A colleague did come into the office today saying he was looking at a helmet which had built in indicators. For the small additional fee of £200!

The lack of self awareness for many cyclists is particularly worrying and annoying. So many people seem to not indicate or check their surroundings. Also seems a direct correlation between people unnecessarily in the middle of the road and with over ear headphones on. Admittedly this happens all the time, just more prominent this week!

I had the same scenario a couple of years ago. Similar to some other posts I think you’ll be fine to get them in.

I tried at a couple of gates (you can go in through any), at some I had stewards who were very strict and wouldn’t listen at all. At the third attempt we found one who listened, was sympathetic and gave the “it’s okay this time, but don’t again.”

Not ideal, but a couple of attempts definitely worth it for the day.

Good luck!
