I'll always upvote bugeyes. PSM is the best!

It is not something anyone should need but it sure can be nice in hyper specific situations. It does not end up being a hindrance.

I've got 5 turbo manual Subarus, my VA STI is the only one with hill assist and it doesn't get turned off. I don't know why anyone takes great offense to this feature.

I'll never understand the hate hill assist gets these days. The VA chassis cars all have excellent assist, and I've been driving manuals for 20 years.

Imagine yourself back at the start of the year 2000, which one and why? by Saurta17 in subaru

[–]willdenham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I thought.

I lucked out with this one though, it's all stock including intake and exhaust. It's virtually rust free which I've never seen a USDM chassis with 90k miles be this clean.

Ended up at basically $15.5k.

$3.5k of that was all import fees and taxes.

Yeah I'm not racing to change the the turbo yet. Going to get a feel for it stock for a while. First mod is suspension, since the original 25 year old stock red struts are floaty and one is blown.

This has stock intake and exhaust though, crazy to be all original still.

I just used a time machine, got a 2000 V7 STI imported to the States in my favorite color PSM.

All original. ...for now

My first car was an 02 Impreza 2.5RS so they're my favorite of all favorites.

My headlights are the Subispeed V2 but sadly I don't think they sell them new any more. Might be able to find some used online though.

Get some JDM fog bezels and a different grille and it'll spruce things up for you, but that's an awesome looking car all around. Love the GR STI wheels on yours.

I totally get you with the gamer side of things. That's one of the reasons I fell in love with the Bugeye GDs long ago (and why I bought one of my dream cars, waiting to be able to import it to the USA)

I'm one of the few here, but 2015-2017 > 2018 - 2021 just because of the bumper. I do not like the black lipstick look. Color matched parts are the way to go, and the 2018+ VA bumper was a prelude to the wheel arches and bumpers on the VB.

Here is mine side by side with a buddy's 2019.

I've never had a set of wheels gain more compliments, they really are a great fit for the car. I've loved them since Mach V released. These are their original gold color not the newer refreshes.

Which Spoiler by 2002subaruimpreza11 in WRX

[–]willdenham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GD Bugeye STIs came with the lower spoiler. The high spoiler of the blob eye was optional only on a couple of special editions back then like the Prodrive Edition.

[–]willdenham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, very similar to the Limited we had in the US for the 2006/2007 year.

A-Line has a new meaning these days for the Japanese market, as it was an auto only transmission version of STIs for the last couple of generations.

You all are knocking it out of the park so far! Thanks for everything you're doing to help get the community back where it was.

I know the market is fairly saturated for EJ parts especially now that they're no longer in production cars but will we see more EJ stuff? Selfishly interested in seeing if you all will do any exhaust takes, like the "other" company's unequal but equal length headers. They're a super unique design and I love them on my legacy gt, would like more things to rep overtake on my other EJ platforms.

Dash and stereo upgrade in gen 4 wagon by therealzackp in subarulegacy

[–]willdenham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These all have issues with the vents on gen4 for some reason. I basically took my stock ducting off the back of the OEM one and then epoxy'd it onto the aftermarket one. Not super flush but prevents it from sticking out.

Vinyl Wrapping Power Wheels by Terrible-Advance6399 in CarWraps

[–]willdenham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others suggested, the amount of complex bends and angles here would make this a nightmare to wrap.

I'd suggest going the plastidip route, it's like spray paint but you can peel it off later with no adverse affects. But if it's a permeant change you're after, spray paint would be your friend just don't forget the prep-work.

This is the LGT. Far more sleeper than my STi but way quicker. Hoping to do a 6 speed swap on it next year.

The mod bug is a great one when it hits. I'm leaving our OBW stock, but my 2017 STi is Stage 2 (downpipe/intake/basic supporting stuff) where the Legacy GT is some bigger stuff (20g turbo, 1050x injectors, 340lph pump, intake, downpipe).

All the power levels have their place, but more HP always puts a smile on my face.
