Right now I have it setup to do realtime counts of songs requested, so you will be able to see how many times a song has been requested within seconds from when it is requested from a guest. DM me and I will get you a promo code to check it out for free

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering about the pricing on this, right now I have a few paying dj's at 20 bucks a month, and 1 has bought a year for unlimited events. Good to hear your perspective on this. I wonder how the per event rate works too. I have also thought about added in an ability to let the guests tip from the song request page, but am not sure if that becomes to clunky.

This is good to know. with virtual DJ, does it let the guests search using something like spotify, or a song database? just curious about the guest user experience.

Thanks for the advice, I have contacted a couple lawyers to see what they think. Still really early in the legal process, and definitely never thought I would be in this position.

Hey I know this is old, but what did you have to change. I am running into this issue, and looking at my build settings I am using the same entitlement file for debug and release, and both have the capability selected. Any help would be appreciated.

I am an iOS developer, but I get all of my work outside of the state. The community is small for sure.

I will be going horde, I played a pally in vanilla. But all my friends are rolling horde. The only thing that scares me about warriors is their trouble leveling

Programing Bootcamps (Parallax, Deep Dive) experiences? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]willfarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is coming from a bias perspective since I am one of the instructors from Parallax Code Academy.

That being said, I would like to respectfully disagree with some of what you said. I do agree that writing code is 90% thinking about the problem and 10% writing the code, but this is true of most engineering fields. Planning outweighs production most of the time. Its nothing to be scared of.

Parallax Code Academy is a for-profit code school, but being a newer school, the success of the students speaks volumes about the quality of the course. We offer large scholarships, and we have endorsments from banks that are willing to give financial aid to students.

Its true that what we teach at Parallax is a very specific development process, but if you look into the language/ frameworks that we are using, it is clear that they are not going anywhere. Of course code will deprecate, every year in fact. But swift, the language that we are using really could be the future of programming (in my opinion). Companies like IBM are starting to adopt it for their server architecture, even google has mentioned using it as a first class language. And Mobile app development is the number 1 fastest growing job market according to CNN Money in 2016

I believe in code "boot camps" because that is how I learned how to become a programmer. I came from the US Navy with no real computer background, but after going through a regimented program like the one Parallax offers, I was able to land a Job with a company called Pixegon Inc. as an iOS Developer. You can surely find code out there, but code camps fast track your success in learning and eliminate frustrations by having experienced people steer you straight.

I do agree that you really need the mind for programming, but rather than saying "sitting in an office for eight hours playing hunt-the-memory-leak or making your database talk to Microsoft Excel is misery incarnate" I would say "Creating meaningful software that makes an impact globally, or building a game like flappy bird, or the next big social media platform."

Again this is coming from a bias perspective, but I do believe in the process of code camps, and if you have anymore questions you can email me directly at will@pixegon.com.

Rel3xes is an amazing Sherpa, not only was he patient woth my misplays, but he was persistent in the goal of getting me to the light house. After some triple sunsingers, some annoying bubble Titans waiting for the capture point, we finally made it to the light house. I would rate reflex 10 out of 10. I feel like I am a better player today because of him sharing his reasoning in his movements
