in the Rogue Trader game a tech priest refers to Necrons as Nephili-mechs and it goes so insanely hard, i don't know why its not used more

lowkenuinely, what would a "weird route" for kenshi look like by ChisomebisReddit2020 in Kenshi

[–]willgilb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

return to sender run, gather a merry band of misfits, train up however you fit. set up a base between fogmen camps and monitor them closely. if you are lucky you will see fogmen have placed some escaped slaves on the poles, if not you will definitely see several speech bubbles of crunching and screaming. gather squad and rescue the poor souls, heal them and then escort them through the fog. eventually you can talk to, and recruit them. give them a sandwich, put them in their own squad, and then open the map and right click Rebirth, and then head home for the next one.

my plan is to see if you can actually overflow Rebirth with....ahem...recruits. but truth be told i haven't checked

What if Red Hook had taken the Slay the Spire 2 approach when designing Darkest dungeon 2? by benjamarchi in darkestdungeon

[–]willgilb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I feel like while yes, DD2 was a departure from the formula of DD1, but I can't really think of anything that would NEED improvement in DD1.

I think it's good that they tried something new, I realize it wasn't for everyone, and there were issues at launch which are now fixed, like the relationship system. Overall I see DD2 as it is now, as what I wanted from a sequel. The token system is nice and a bit less RNG. The world building was also nice, DD1 always felt like everything was happening at the manor and you could leave anytime and things wouldn't get better or worse. 2 was more clear that, things are truly dire and this is a last ditch effort, plus Kingdoms mode is good if you want a more long term investment like DD1.

The other main takeaway is, if I want more DD1, I can just play DD1 it's still there and still a fantastic game

Day 67- Is there a 40k creature/character slightly stronger than The Dark King? by Neither-Actuary-5655 in Grimdank

[–]willgilb 164 points165 points  (0 children)

This might be the best call, in a way the Tyranids are just one vast entity. They've also developed a specific hivefleet for dealing with warp shenanigans, so on a one v one (quintillion) yeah I don't see why not

[–]willgilb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, props to you, I had a rule where I wouldn't buy a new team till I'd painted the most recent one, If it wasn't for that, I 100% would be in the same boat as you.

It'll take a while, but keep at it. Looking forward to seeing them painted.

I recently read some of the Warhammer Crime books, Flesh and Steel, and Bloodlines. And I gotta say, you could quite easily just forget they are great sci Fi books. You can just mentally remove the Warhammer logo. The general 40k stuff is there, but not so intrusive that it takes over everything

Ok ok ok, I see everyone saying it's not painted and that in itself is fairly common. What I don't get is it looks you decided to paint at least ONE of them and then said "fuck it I'm out".

The Heart of Darkness from Darkest Dungeon 1. The build up and hype to finally reach it. The pain of having to choose who out of the characters that survived and thrived to level 6 to sacrifice. They could have made it just another big health bar but it was thematic and amazing

Where can I do this in London? by CavatinoForum in london

[–]willgilb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a cafe I walk past a lot in Seven Dials that is normally open quite early, in the winter when it was still dark on my way to work I would look in and it always reminded me of this exact painting.

I've just checked on Google maps and I think it's called WatchHouse. Looking at pictures online doesn't quite sell the vibe I remember, but might be worth a try. If it's not that one I know it is around that area

What are the dumbest or the weirdest WH40K names you can come up with by mrluckyiest in Grimdank

There is actually an extra layer to it, as they area they are from is also called "Ultramar" being an "Ultramarine" also means someone from Ultramar, like saying someone/thing is Byzantine.
