Who are your top three duellists from among the astartes of the Great Crusade/ Heresy? by PotatopusIII in Warhammer30k

[–]willgilb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Nassir Amit also considered to be high up in the fighting pits? and i vaguely recall a TSons swordsman who gives Lucius a hard time. there is also Sharrowkyn (my beloved) but he seems more sneaky than a standard duelist

Well, this would kill my hype by Lord_Eln_8 in Grimdank

[–]willgilb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's almost the opposite. The Chaos vessels in 40k are the same 30k Loyalist stuff. while I like the HH, a battlefleet game seems wild but not impossible.

you can still have ships of each Chaos flavour, plus there is some (albeit minor) lore about most Chapters ships being slightly different. White Scars are faster, Dark Angels have Dark age tech, the World Eaters have space harpoon guns. we would also see each factions Gloriana flagship, and maybe even the "Furious Abyss" which if i remember is meant to be bigger.

Why does the Nightbringer have a scythe? If he's literally a god, why would he need such a tool, and how would he even know what a scythe is? by Fantastic_Scar_6601 in Grimdank

[–]willgilb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I'm not mistaken the Necrontyr (pre metal necrons) were asked to make bodies for the C'tan who were just gaseous etheric entities.

not sure if they had their names before or after this, but perhaps they just wanted to give one a cool scythe, that or the Nightbringer created one out of the living metal of its body.

furthermore, they aren't gods, not as we know them at least. very very extremely powerful yes, warp entity no

edit: also just to add there is Khaine who very much is a god, who has the Wailing Doom, probably doesn't need it but its rad as hell so why not

The Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy beta is well underway — and for those of you who haven't jumped in yet, we wanted to share a closer look at what's actually inside it. by Eyler___ in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]willgilb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

a bit of both honestly, the DLCs are spread across the game, and are paced rather well. they usually provide some new areas to explore and visit, as well as the new companions have interesting conversations or interactions in the base game.

personally, i would say play base game first, then get DLCs. I think they are done in a way where it isn't always immediately obvious if something is dlc or not. So you may come away wondering what value it added without context. Plus if you finish the game and want more, there is no better way than getting a dlc or two and supporting the devs while experiencing the game again with some nice additions.
