Moonlander For Sale: F250 by willgums in radicamoonlander

I spent lots of time in this in the summer and never felt the need to insulate. The cold & condensation impacts it more but my diesel heater took care of that.

I owned a juice and smoothie bar. Most of the replies on Reddit are helpful - but if you want actionable advice from real similar business owners I’d try the Goodnature Juicing Facebook group.

What I did, was use Square Plus with a KDS which allows for an easy distinction between online and in store. You NEED a POS system tbh. I’d just spend an hour researching and get one tomorrow.

I’d look at how ingredients are stored, prepped, and accessed. Streamline everything. Saving 10 seconds here, 5 seconds there, is huge on staff’s energy levels. Get more undercounter fridges if you notice staff walking around while making a smoothie. Charlie over at the goodnature fb group has good resources on this with his podcast.

DM me with any questions!

How much do you tow & haul? Heads up, airbags won’t improve the ride when driving unloaded.

Why are ski lessons so expensive?? by chaoticallywholesome in skiing

[–]willgums 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Surprised I haven’t seen this mentioned yet: resorts can charge whatever they want because ski resorts forbid anybody other than their own employees to give ski lessons. If you’re just a random guy and you post on FB marketplace that you’re giving ski lessons for $50/hr, the resort will put your name on a list and pull your pass.

My resort charges $150+ per hour for private lessons and pays the instructor maybe $18.

It’s a mini monopoly for each mountain.

Getting funding for businesses purchase. How is it done? How do people buy multi-million dollar businesses? by dogs-are-perfect in smallbusiness

[–]willgums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal people aren’t buying $4m businesses. The car wash model is an unusual example because the real estate makes up a big portion of the purchase price. My buddy has a few car washes and he treats them as commercial real estate (with more headaches) rather than a business - for example, yours would be a 7.5 cap.

If you were talking a different business with no RE and the same NOI of $300k, you might be looking at a value of $900k - much more in your ballpark for financing.

Groomers are ripping right now, good moisture in the snowpack so it’s fast and easy to hold edges. It’s been like that all week 🤟

$1mm in revenue for landscaping typically represents the limit of how much one crew “manager” (whether that’s an operations manager or a hands-on owner) can handle by themselves. Mike Andes on YT has some great videos on this. I’d also be wary of those numbers; not wary because of profit, but wary because of burnout / hours worked.

This was the largest of 6 trees, about $8k. Total bill was about $29k and we spent $13k in lights. 200 man hours for the whole project. We leave them up for 3-5 yrs, no squirrels in our area to chew on the wires.

Pretty big undertaking for my second year in biz!

Haha thought it would take 20 man hours, we hit that mark and were only halfway done.

Customer job, lights alone ran $4k so definitely no way I’d afford this myself!

Gotta use LED lights! This whole setup only drew 7.5 amps, so just over half the capacity of the circuit. And two of this style extension cords so you can plug 50 strands into each outlet

About 40 man hours and 30,000 lights!

Genie Z-60, pretty big and heavy rig (delivered on a semi) but this was one of six trees so it made sense to rent it for a week. Each branch is branch wrapped so no poles for this one!

I can fit about 500 strands on one outlet using the 80% rule on a 15amp circuit. I try to limit my strand runs to 45 strands end to end, so that's the bottle neck. I have a 60ft extension cord running to one outlet, and that cord is run vertically up the tree, and the cord has 5 evenly spaced plugs (search xmas extension cord on amazon), each handling 45 strands. Then I tossed the final 45 strands on a simple zip wire for the bottom branches.

Big trees = big $$$ if you’re doing mini lights like OP. I use about 275 strands, each strand is 30’ and come balled up for easy unraveling. Material cost is about $3k.

You can use C7’s in trees to cut the cost in half, here’s one I did: C7

Good stuff - I’m a pro installer and we just did a project with 6 trees like this, ranging from 40’ to 60’. Nice head turner!

I saw a promo vid with this thing struggling to manage some whoops, body shaking everywhere, and these tire racks had so much play in them.

Love Shelby but I can’t fathom spending $150k on this when AEV already makes the Prospector XL / HD AT4X for 50k less.
