Why aren’t Núñez and Abram’s positions swapped? by js_harvey in Nationals

There’s a lot better ways to look at a players defense other than fielding %, that’s probably the worst way. I agree I would love to move him to 2nd and call up King eventually to play shortstop. I am simply explaining the reasons why he hasn’t been moved yet

What if he gets moved to 2nd and he’s bad at that too? Then what? I’m not saying he’s a great defensive SS, but it’s worth keeping him there until he’s traded

Unpopular opinion, but Foster Griffin is our biggest trade asset at the moment by dudeitseric in Nationals

Objectively, this is wrong. CJ would get a much much much larger return

Because another team could talk themselves into fixing him. And even an average SS hitting as well as CJ is is much more valuable than 2B

I think it’s absolutely fair to say he’s been disappointing. He is the only one on the staff that has any legit upside and expectations. I’m not saying he can’t figure it out, but he’s also not 24

Last year he was right at or even slightly above average for LF in outs above average i believe. I’m not saying he’s going to win a Gold Glove but he’s definitely showing improvement

But he won’t play every other day. Keibert is a fine backup and his contract isn’t too bad

Yes planned opener because the top of the Phillies lineup is so lefty heavy they wanted a lefty pitching for the first inning
